🌟An overview about Hon'ble Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, India, Ms.J.Jayalalitha :

  • J. Jayalalitha, Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Revolutionary Leader, was born on 24th February 1948 in Mysore, India. Her birth name is Komalavalli, her followers called her as "Amma" (mother).
  • Jayalalitha, who has excelled in education since her childhood, was keen to study law. But due to circumstances, she started her film career at a young age with the English film 'Epistle' directed by  Shankar V. Giri.
  • She made her Tamil film debut with the film 'வெண்ணிà®± ஆடை" (White Dress), which marked the end of her screen career in 1980 with 'நதியை தேடி வந்த கடல்" (The Sea in Search of the River).
  • Later, M.G.Ramachandran (actor, founder of the AIADMK, former chief minister of tamilnadu) appointed her as the campaign secretary. Four years later, she was appointed to the state legislature.
  • After MGR's death,  his wife Janaki Ramachandran was nominated by some party members as the future leader of the AIADMK. But in 1989, the AIADMK merged and became led by Jayalalitha.
  • She won the 1991, 2001, 2011, and 2016 state assembly elections and took over as chief minister and served six times as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for over fourteen years between 1991 and 2016.
  • On 2004 Jayalalitha was invited by the House of Lords, London, to receive the "Woman Politician of the Decade Award" from the Asian Guild Awards.
  • J.Jayalalitha, the golden star of Tamil Nadu, passed away on 5th december 2016. Her death surrounds numerous rumours but Dr. Richard Beale, the consultant intensivist from the London Bridge Hospital, said the former Tamil Nadu chief minister was critically ill and acute sepsis led to her death.
