The National Company Limited (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1980 :
- It was enacted on 19th July 1980 and as per Section 1 (2) The provisions of sections 29 and 30 shall come into force at once and the remaining provisions of this Act shall be deemed to have come into force on 27th April 1980, to provide for the acquisition and transfer of the undertakings of Messrs. National Company Limited with a view to securing the proper management of such undertakings so as to subserve the interests of the general public by ensuring the continued manufacture, production and distribution of articles made of jute, which are essential to the needs of the economy of the country and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

| Mangal Pandey - Revolutionary |
மங்கள் பாண்டே - Mangal Pandey - Indian soldier - Revolutionary (he was the cause of sepoy mutiny) :
✒️Mangal Pandey, considered by many to be the pioneer of the Indian uprising and the cause of the Sepoy Mutiny, was born on July 19, 1827 in Uttar Pradesh. He was the main reason for starting the Sepoy Mutiny in 1857. Mangal Pandey, who served as a soldier in the East India Company's 34th Regiment, started the Sepoy Mutiny. In which Mangal Pandey was arrested due to a mutiny among the officers of the East India Company and the 34th Regiment was disbanded. He was later sentenced to death for rebelling against the East India Company and was hanged on April 8, 1857. The film 'The Rising', depicting the history of Mangal Pandey, was released in 2005. The Government of India issued a postage stamp in 1984 in honor of Mangal Pandey.
- இந்தியர்களின் எழுச்சிக்கு முன்னோடியாகப் பலராலும் பார்க்கப்படுபவரும், சிப்பாய் கலகம் தோன்ற காரணமானவருமான மங்கள் பாண்டே 1827ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 19ஆம் தேதி உத்தரப்பிரதேசத்தில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் 1857ஆம் ஆண்டு சிப்பாய் கலகம் ஆரம்பிக்க முக்கிய காரணமாக இருந்தவர். கிழக்கிந்தியக் கம்பெனியின் 34வது ரெஜிமென்டில் படை வீரராக பணிபுரிந்த மங்கள் பாண்டே, சிப்பாய் கலகத்தை தொடங்கி வைத்தார்.
- இதில் கிழக்கிந்தியக் கம்பெனியின் அலுவலர்களுக்கிடையே ஏற்பட்ட கலகம் காரணமாக மங்கள் பாண்டே கைது செய்யப்பட்டு 34வது படைப்பிரிவு கலைக்கப்பட்டது.
- பிறகு கிழக்கிந்தியக் கம்பெனிக்கு எதிராக கிளர்ச்சியில் ஈடுபட்டமைக்காக மரணதண்டனை விதிக்கப்பட்டு 1857ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 8ந் தேதி தூக்கிலிடப்பட்டார்.
- மங்கள் பாண்டேவின் வரலாற்றை சித்தரிக்கும் 'தி ரைசிங்' (The Rising) என்ற திரைப்படம் 2005ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளிவந்தது. இந்திய அரசு மங்கள் பாண்டே நினைவாக 1984ஆம் ஆண்டு அஞ்சல் தலையை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

ஜயந்த் நாரளீக்கர் - Jayant Vishnu Narlikar - Indian Astrophysicist :
- இந்திய விஞ்ஞான மேதை ஜயந்த் விஷ்ணு நாரளீக்கர் 1938ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூலை 19ஆம் தேதி மகாராஷ்டிராவில் உள்ள கோலாப்பூரில் பிறந்தார்.
- நிலைமாறா அண்டவியலை ஆதரிக்கும் இவர், ஃபிரெட் ஹோயிலுடன் (Fred Hoyle) இணைந்து ஹோயில்-நாரளீக்கர் கோட்பாட்டை(Hoyle-Narlikar theory) உருவாக்கினார். 41கி.மீ. உயரத்தில் மீவளி மண்டலத்தில் (Stratosphere) நுண்ணுயிரிகள் கண்டெடுக்கப்பட்டு, அவற்றை ஆய்வு செய்த குழுவுக்கு தலைமையேற்று வழி நடத்தினார்.
- மேலும், இவரின் பங்களிப்பிற்காக பத்ம பூஷண் விருது (1965), இந்திய தேசிய அறிவியல் அகாடமியின் இந்திரா காந்தி விருது (1990), பத்ம விபூஷண் விருது (2004), மகாராஷ்டிர பூஷண் விருது (2010), சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருது (2014) உள்ளிட்ட பல விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
