The Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969 :
✒️It was enacted on 31st May 1969 and came into force on 1st October 1970, to provide for the regulation of registration of births and deaths and for matters connected therewith.
The Departmental Inquiries (Enforcement of Attendance of Witnesses and Production of Documents) Act, 1972:
✒️It was enacted & enforced on 31st May 1972, to provide for the enforcement of attendance of witnesses and production of documents in certain departmental inquiries and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
The Architects Act, 1972:
✒️It was enacted on 31st May 1972 & came into force on 2nd April 1973, to provide for the registration of architects and for matters connected therewith.
The Union Territories (Separation of Judicial and Executive Functions) Act, 1969 :
✒️It was enacted on 31st May 1969 & came into force on 2nd October 1969, to provide for the separation of judicial and executive functions in Union Territories.
சர்வதேச புகையிலை எதிர்ப்பு தினம் - World No-Tobacco Day :
✒️The object of this day is to raise awareness about the dangers of tobacco and the ways to get rid of it.
- உலகம் முழுவதும் ஆண்டுதோறும் மே 31ஆம் தேதி சர்வதேச புகையிலை எதிர்ப்பு தினமாக அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.
- புகையிலையில் நிக்கோடின் என்ற வேதிப்பொருள் உள்ளது. இதில் புற்றுநோயை உருவாக்கக்கூடிய காரணிகள் உள்ளன. புகையிலையின் தீங்கை மக்களிடம் கொண்டுசெல்வதும், புகையிலையால் ஏற்படும் ஆபத்தையும், அவற்றிலிருந்து விடுபடும் வழிகளையும் எடுத்துரைப்பதே இத்தினத்தின் நோக்கம்.
Walter Whitman - Renowned Poet
வால்ட் விட்மன் - Walter Whitman - American Poet, Essayist, Journalist :
✒️Walt Whitman, the father of prose poetry who opposed the slave trade, was born on May 31, 1819 in Huntington, New York, USA. His poem called 'Song of Myself' and a novel called Franklin Evans were very familiar. He started a magazine called 'Free Soil' (Brooklyn Freeman-Free Soil newspaper) to protest against the cruelty of slaves. Following Abraham Lincoln's actions to free black people from slavery, the American Civil War began. Abraham Lincoln was shot and killed within days of winning the war. In that heartbreak Whitman's poem O captain! My captain! filled the readers with emotion. Walt Whitman, the revolutionary poet who gained recognition after many struggles, died on March 26, 1892. - அடிமை வியாபாரத்தை எதிர்த்தவரான வசனநடை கவிதையின் தந்தை வால்ட் விட்மன் 1819ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 31ஆம் தேதி அமெரிக்காவின் நியூயார்க் மாநிலம் ஹன்டிங்டனில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் 'Song of Myself" (சாங் ஆஃப் மைசெல்ஃப்) என்ற கவிதை நூலையும், பிராங்க்ளின் இவான்ஸ் என்ற நாவலையும் எழுதியுள்ளார். அடிமைகளுக்கு இழைக்கப்படும் கொடுமைகளை எதிர்த்து 'ப்ரீ சாயில்' (Brooklyn Freeman-Free Soil newspaper) என்ற பத்திரிகையைத் தொடங்கினார்.
- கருப்பின மக்களை அடிமைத்தனத்தில் இருந்து விடுவிக்க ஆபிரகாம் லிங்கன் எடுத்த நடவடிக்கைகளைத் தொடர்ந்து, அமெரிக்க உள்நாட்டுப் போர் தொடங்கியது.
- போர் வெற்றி பெற்ற சில நாளில் ஆபிரகாம் லிங்கன் சுட்டுக் கொல்லப்பட்டார். அந்த மனவேதனையில் விட்மன் எழுதிய O captain! My captain! (ஓ கேப்டன், மை கேப்டன்) என்ற இரங்கற்பா, படிப்போரை உணர்ச்சி வெள்ளத்தில் ஆழ்த்தியது.
- பல போராட்டங்களை கடந்து தனக்கான அங்கீகாரத்தைப் பெற்ற புரட்சிக்கவிஞர் வால்ட் விட்மன் 1892ஆம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் 26ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟கனடாவில் நியூ பிரன்ஸ்விக்கையும், பிரின்ஸ் எட்வர்ட் தீவையும் இணைக்கும் கூட்டமைப்புப் பாலமானது 1997 ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 31 ஆம் தேதி திறக்கப்பட்டது - The Confederation Bridge; Canada's lengthy bridge and the planet's longest bridge over ice-covered water, which connects the Prince Edward Island with New Brunswick was opened on 31st May, 1997.
🌟 1911ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 31ஆம் தேதி டைட்டானிக் கப்பல் வெள்ளோட்டம் (சோதனை) விடப்பட்டது - Titanic, the grandeur steamship was launched on 31st may 1911. (Sank on 15th April 1912 after striking an iceberg, leading to the deaths of more than 1,500 passengers and the unit).
🌟 1976ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 31ஆம் தேதி மூலக்கூறு உயிரியலின் சிற்பி ஜாக்குவஸ் லூசியன் மோனாட் மறைந்தார் - Jacques Lucien Monod, sculptor of molecular biology, Nobel Laureate, was died on May 31, 1976.
