எம்.ஜி.ராமச்சந்திரன் - Maruthur Gopala Ramachandran - popularly known as M.G.R - Indian Politician - Former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from 1977 to till his death in 1987 - Founder of AIADMK - Philanthropist - Actor and Film Producer :
✒️Today is MGR's Birthday Day! who was born on January 17, 1917 in Sri Lanka. His full name is Marudhur Gopalan Ramachandran. He was India's greatest actor, producer and politician. And he was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for three consecutive terms from 1977 to till his death. He made his debut in the Tamil Nadu film industry with the film Sathileelavathi. Later he joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, inspired by the political views of Arignar Anna. In 1960, he was selected for the 'Padma Shri Award' but refused to accept it. He has received many awards like Bharat Ratna Award, Anna Award, Velliyanai Award. Makkal Thilagam (People's Tilak) MGR passed away on 24th December 1987.
- புரட்சி தலைவர் எம்.ஜி.ஆர் 1917ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 17ஆம் தேதி இலங்கையில் பிறந்தார். இவருடைய முழுப்பெயர் மருதூர் கோபாலன் ராமச்சந்திரன்.
- இவர் இந்தியாவின் தலைச்சிறந்த நடிகராகவும், தயாரிப்பாளராகவும், அரசியல்வாதியாகவும் இருந்தார். மேலும் இவர் 1977ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் இறக்கும் வரை தொடர்ந்து மூன்று முறை தமிழ்நாட்டின் முதலமைச்சராக இருந்தவர்.
- சதிலீலாவதி என்ற திரைப்படம் மூலம் தமிழக திரைத்துறையில் அறிமுகமானார். பிறகு அறிஞர் அண்ணாவின் அரசியல் கருத்துக்களில் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழகத்தில் இணைந்தார்.
- 1960ஆம் ஆண்டு இவர் 'பத்மஸ்ரீ விருதுக்காகத்" தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டார். ஆனால், அதை ஏற்க மறுத்துவிட்டார். இவர் பாரத ரத்னா விருது, அண்ணா விருது, வெள்ளியானை விருது போன்ற பல விருதுகளை பெற்றுள்ளார்.
- மக்கள் திலகம் எம்.ஜி.ஆர் 1987ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 24ஆம் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

✒️Benjamin Franklin, the senior leader who created the United States of America, was born on January 17, 1706 in Boston, USA. He is not only a political leader, but also a writer, scientist and inventor who is involved in many fields.He is the author of the famous journal 'Poor Richard's Almanack'. He made famous researches on electricity, thunder and lightning and invented lightning rod, bifocal glasses and many other instruments. Franklin passed away on April 17, 1790, who contributed greatly to the field of science.
- ஐக்கிய அமெரிக்காவை உருவாக்கிய மூத்த தலைவர் பெஞ்சமின் பிராங்கிளின் 1706ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 17ஆம் தேதி அமெரிக்காவின் பாஸ்டன் நகரில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் ஓர் அரசியல் தலைவர் மட்டுமல்ல, ஒரு எழுத்தாளர், அறிவியலாளர், கண்டுபிடிப்பாளர் என பல துறைகளில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளார்.
- இவர் 'Poor Richards Almanack" என்ற புகழ்பெற்ற இதழை இவ்வுலகுக்குத் தந்தவர்.
- மின்சாரம் பற்றியும், இடி மற்றும் மின்னல் பற்றியும், புகழ்பெற்ற ஆராய்ச்சிகளை செய்து இடி தாங்கியையும், வெள்ளெழுத்தக் கண்ணாடியையும் (bifocal glasses) மற்றும் பல கருவிகளையும் கண்டுபிடித்தவர்.
- அறிவியல் துறைக்கு சிறப்பான பங்களிப்பை வழங்கிய பிராங்கிளின் 1790ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 17ஆம் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟தமிழகத்தின் முன்னாள் ஆளுநரும், சென்னை உயர்நீதிமன்ற தலைமை நீதிபதியுமான எம்.எம்.இஸ்மாயில் 2005ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 17ஆம் தேதி காலமானார் - M.M.Ismail, Former Governor of Tamil Nadu and Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, was passed away on 17th January 2005.(He became Chief Justice of Madras High Court on 6th November 1979 and on 8th July 1981 he tendered his resignation, following his transfer to the Kerala High Court as its Chief Justice).
🌟 1991ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 17ஆம் தேதி வளைகுடாப் போர் ஆரம்பித்தது - The Gulf War broke out on January 17, 1991.
🌟 ஐ.நா பாதுகாப்பு அவை தனது முதலாவது கூட்டத்தை 1946ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 17ஆம் தேதி நடத்தியது - The UN Security Council held its first meeting on 17th January 1946.
