The Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Act, 1956 :
✒️It was enacted & enforced on 16th September 1956, to provide for an increase in the number of Judges of the Supreme Court, excluding the Chief Justice.
The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 :
✒️It was enacted on 16th September 1985 & came into force on 14th November 1985, to consolidate and amend the law relating to narcotic drugs, to make stringent provisions for the control and regulation of operations relating to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances , to provide for the forfeiture of property derived from, or used in, illicit traffic in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, to implement the provisions of the International Conventions on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances and for matters connected therewith.
The Railway Property (Unlawful Possession) Act, 1966 :
✒️It was enacted on 16th September 1966 & came into force on 1st April 1968, to consolidate and amend the law relating to unlawful possession of railway property.
The Working Journalists (Fixation of Rates of Wages) Act, 1958 :
✒️It was enacted & enforced on 16th September 1958, to provide for the fixation of rates of wages in respect of working journalists and for matters connected therewith.
The Sugar Export Promotion Act, 1958 :
✒️ It was enacted & enforced on 16th September 1958, to provide for the export of sugar in the public interest and for the levy and collection in certain circumstances of an additional duty of excise on sugar produced in India.
உலக ஓசோன் தினம் - World Ozone Day :
✒️Several years ago, there was a lot of talk about the depletion of the Ozone Layer, which is like a shield for the earth. It is first observed by the "Dobson Unit", which measures Ozone density in Antarctica, the density is low. Subsequently, an international conference on the Ozone Layer was held in 1987. The UN has declared September 16 as World Ozone Day. The countries of the world were urged to take awareness measures to prevent the damage to the Ozone Layer. In order to protect the Ozone Layer, it is our duty each of us must take a pledge to protect the Ozone and also, our actions should be to protect the Ozone Layer. - பூமிக்கு கவசம் போல இருக்கும் ஓசோன் படலத்தின், அடர்த்தி குறைந்து ஓட்டை விழ ஆரம்பித்து விட்டதாக கடந்த பல ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு பரபரப்பாக பேசப்பட்டது.
- முதலில் அண்டார்டிகா பகுதியில் ஓசோன் அடர்த்தியை அளக்கும் டாப்சன் அலகில் (Dobson Unit) பார்த்தபோது அடர்த்தி குறைவாக இருப்பது கண்டறியப்பட்டது. இதையடுத்து 1987ஆம் ஆண்டு ஓசோன் படலம் குறித்த சர்வதேச மாநாடு நடத்தப்பட்டது.
- ஐ.நா.சபையானது, செப்டம்பர் 16ஆம் தேதியை உலக ஓசோன் தினம்/உலக ஓசோன் பாதுகாப்பு தினமாக அறிவித்தது. ஓசோன் படலத்தில் ஏற்படும் பாதிப்பை தடுக்க விழிப்புணர்வு நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க உலக நாடுகளுக்கு வலியுறுத்தப்பட்டது.
- ஓசோனை பாதுகாக்க நாம் ஒவ்வொருவரும் உறுதிமொழி எடுக்க வேண்டும். மேலும், நம்முடைய நடவடிக்கைகள் ஓசோன் மண்டலத்தை பாதுகாக்கும் வகையில் இருக்க வேண்டும்.

ஆல்பர்ட் ஸென்ட் ஜியார்ஜி - Albert Szent-Gyorgyi - Biochemist - Nobel Laureate :
✒️The discoverer of Vitamin 'C' and the Nobel Prize-winning Hungarian researcher Albert Szent-George was born on September 16, 1893 in Budapest, the capital of Hungary. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 1937 for his discoveries on the chemical reactions of cells, vitamin C, and ascorbic acid. Albert Szent-George, who was engaged in researches for the well-being of mankind until the end of his life, was died on 22nd October 1986.
- வைட்டமின் சி-யை கண்டுபிடித்தவரும், மருத்துவத்திற்கான நோபல் பரிசு பெற்ற ஹங்கேரி ஆராய்ச்சியாளருமான ஆல்பர்ட் ஸென்ட் ஜியார்ஜி 1893ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 16ஆம் தேதி ஹங்கேரி தலைநகர் புடாபெஸ்ட்டில் பிறந்தார். செல்கள், வைட்டமின் சி, அஸ்கார்பிக் அமிலத்தின் வேதியியல் மாற்றங்கள் குறித்த கண்டுபிடிப்புகளுக்காக 1937ஆம் ஆண்டு மருத்துவத்திற்கான நோபல் பரிசு பெற்றார்.
- இறுதிவரை மனிதகுல நல்வாழ்வுக்கான ஆராய்ச்சிகளில் ஈடுபட்ட ஆல்பர்ட் ஸென்ட் ஜியார்ஜி 1986ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 22ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
எம்.எஸ்.சுப்புலட்சுமி - Madurai Shanmukhavadivu Subbulakshmi - Carnatic Singer :
✒️The incomparable musician M.S.Subbulakshmi, who donated her huge fortune from singing to charity and social service, was born on 16th September 1916 in Madurai. An L.V., Gramophone Record published in 1926, on the music album, in the song "Maragatha Vadivum Sengathir Velum", Shanmugavadivu's veena, M.S.Subbulakshmi's song was also released together, it was released by "Twin Recording Company" and this was her first album. She has been awarded Padma Bhushan, Sangeetha Natak Akademi Award, Sangeetha Kalanidhi, Music Scholar Award, Padma Vibhushan, Sangeetha Kalasikhamani Award, Kalidas Samman Award, Bharat Ratna and Ramon Magsaysay Award. M.S.Subbulakshmi passed away on 11th December 2004 in Chennai.
- பாடல்கள் பாடி ஈட்டிய பெருஞ்செல்வத்தை தானமாக நற்பணிகளுக்கும், சமூக சேவைக்கும் கொடுத்த ஒப்பற்ற இசைக்கலைஞர் எம்.எஸ்.சுப்புலட்சுமி 1916ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 16ஆம் தேதி மதுரையில் பிறந்தார்.
- 1926ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளியிடப்பட்ட ஒரு எல்.வி. இசைத்தட்டில் 'மரகத வடிவும் செங்கதிர் வேலும்" என்னும் பாடலில் சண்முகவடிவின் வீணையும், எம்.எஸ்.சுப்புலட்சுமியின் பாட்டும் இணைந்து வெளிவந்தது. தி ட்வின் ரிகார்டிங் கம்பெனி இதை வெளியிட்டது. இதுதான் இவரது முதல் இசைத்தட்டு.
- இவருக்கு பத்ம பூஷண், சங்கீத நாடக அகாடமி விருது, சங்கீத கலாநிதி, இசைப்பேரறிஞர் விருது, பத்ம விபூஷண், சங்கீத கலாசிகாமணி விருது, காளிதாஸ் சம்மன் விருது, பாரத ரத்னா மற்றும் மகசேசே பரிசு போன்ற பல விருதுகள் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
