The Cine-workers Welfare Fund Act, 1981:
✒️It was enacted on 17th September 1981 & came into force on 1st November 1984, to provide for the financing of activities to promote the welfare of certain cine-workers.

ஈ.வெ.இராமசாமி - Erode Venkatappa Ramasamy (Thanthai Periyar) - Social Activist - Politician (who started the Self-Respect Movement and Dravidar Kazhagam) :
✒️E.V.Ramasamy popularly known as Thanthai Periyar (Respected Elder) was born on 17th September 1879 in Erode district. He was the founder of the Dravidian Movement. He is not only followed the principles of Gandhiji but also exemplified them to others. He also staged pickets against merchants selling foreign cloth. He successfully conducted anti-Hindi protest, toddy shop protest, Vaikam protest. Conducted mixed marriages and widow remarriages. A staunch foe of ignorance, superstition and meaningless formalities, he is variously known as the wise man, Vaikam warrior and Thanthai Periyar. His Self-Respect Movement aimed to 'remove superstitions among the people'. Thanthai Periyar, Sculptor of Reason, Key to the Lock of Knowledge, World's Greatest Thinker and Scholar of Immortal History, was passed away on 24th December 1973.
- தந்தை பெரியார் என அனைவராலும் அழைக்கப்படும் ஈ.வெ.இராமசாமி அவர்கள் 1879ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 17ஆம் தேதி ஈரோடு மாவட்டத்தில் பிறந்தார். இவர் திராவிடர் கழகத்தை தோற்றுவித்தவர். இவர் காந்தியடிகளின் கொள்கைகளை பின்பற்றியது மட்டுமல்லாமல் பிறருக்கும் எடுத்துக்கூறினார். வெளிநாட்டு துணிகளை விற்பனை செய்யும் வணிகர்களுக்கு எதிராக மறியல் போராட்டங்களையும் நடத்தினார். இந்தி எதிர்ப்புப் போராட்டம், கள்ளுக்கடை போராட்டம், வைக்கம் போராட்டத்தை வெற்றிகரமாக நடத்தியவர். கலப்புத் திருமணம், விதவை மறுமணங்களை நடத்தியவர். அறியாமை, மூடநம்பிக்கை மற்றும் அர்த்தமற்ற சம்பிரதாயங்கள் ஆகியவற்றின் கடும் எதிரி, பகுத்தறிவு பகலவன், வைக்கம் வீரர் மற்றும் தந்தை பெரியார் என பல்வேறு பெயர்களில் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார். அவரது சுயமரியாதை இயக்கம் ‘மக்களிடையே இருந்த மூடபழக்க வழக்கங்களை அகற்றுவதை’ நோக்கமாக கொண்டு செயல்பட்டது. பகுத்தறிவின் சிற்பி, அறிவு பூட்டின் திறவுகோல், உலகின் மாபெரும் சுயசிந்தனையாளரும், அழியாத வரலாற்றின் அறிஞருமான தந்தை பெரியார் 1973ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 24ஆம் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
நரேந்திர மோடி - Narendra Modi - Politician - Prime Minister of India :
- தற்போதைய இந்திய பிரதமர் நரேந்திர மோடி அவர்கள், 1950ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 17ஆம் தேதி குஜராத்திலுள்ள வட்நகர் என்ற இடத்தில் பிறந்தார். இவர் பாரதிய ஜனதா கட்சியின் முக்கிய அரசியல்வாதிகளில் ஒருவர். இவர் 1998ஆம் ஆண்டு குஜராத் மற்றும் இமாச்சலப் பிரதேச தேர்தல் பொறுப்பாளராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார், பின்னர் இமாச்சலப் பிரதேசம், பஞ்சாப், ஹரியானா, சண்டிகர் ஆகிய மாநிலங்களுக்கு, பாரதிய ஜனதா கட்சியின் பொதுச்செயலாளராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார். 1998ஆம் ஆண்டு அடல் பிகாரி வாஜ்பாய் பிரதமராகப் பதவியேற்ற போது, மோடிக்கு தேசிய செயலாளர் பதவி வழங்கப்பட்டது. பின்னர் 2001ஆம் ஆண்டு குஜராத் மாநில முதல்வராக பதவியேற்றார். குஜராத் அரசியல் வரலாற்றில் நீண்டகாலம் முதல்வராக இருந்தவர் (2001 - 2014). பிறகு 2014ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய பிரதமராக பதவியேற்றார். மீண்டும் 2019ஆம் ஆண்டு இரண்டாவது முறையாக இந்திய பிரதமராக பதவியேற்றுள்ளார்.

🌟 1930ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 17ஆம் தேதி இந்திய வயலின் கலைஞரான லால்குடி ஜெயராமன் பிறந்தார் - Indian violinist Lalgudi Jayaraman was born on 17th September 1930.
🌟 1953ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 17ஆம் தேதி தமிழறிஞர் திரு.வி.க. மறைந்தார் - On September 17, 1953, Tamil scholar Thiru.Vi.Ka passed away.
