✒️It was enacted on 8th June 1957 & came into force on 12th June 1957, to establish in the economic interest of India greater public control over the coal mining industry and its development by providing for the acquisition by the State of unworked land containing or likely to contain coal deposits or of rights in or over such land, for the extinguishment or modification of such rights accruing by virtue of any agreement, lease, licence or otherwise, and for matters connected therewith.
✒️In 1992, on 8th June, at Earth summit held at Brazil, the concept of protection of Oceans was formed. We celebrate that day as World Ocean Day. The ocean is affected by environmental damage. As a result, marine life is dying. World Oceans Day is celebrated to protect marine life, learn about seafood and pay respect to the ocean.

✒️World Brain Tumor Day is observed on 8th June every year. This day has been observed since 2000 to create awareness among all brain tumor patients and their families.

✒️R.N.Veerappan, who dedicated himself to the development of Tamils worldwide, was born on June 8, 1930 in Sri Lanka. He is a philanthropist in many fields like short story, research articles, research works, conducting literary drama, language struggle, global Tamil cultural relations. Books have been written about him by Ayya Kathir Muthaiyanar, a poet from Tamil Nadu and Suratha Murugaiyanar from London. He founded the Tamil Cultural Movement for the upliftment of Tamil and served as its leader. R.N. Veerappan, who always called for the preservation of race, language and culture and also carried out creative works, passed away on 3rd September 1999.
✒️உலக தமிழர் மேம்பாட்டிற்காக தன்னை அர்ப்பணித்து கொண்ட இர.ந.வீரப்பன் 1930ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூன் 8ஆம் தேதி இலங்கையில் பிறந்தார். இவர் சிறுகதை, ஆராய்ச்சி கட்டுரைகள், ஆய்வு பணிகள், இலக்கிய நாடகம் நடத்துதல், மொழி போராட்டம், உலகளாவிய தமிழ் பண்பாட்டு தொடர்புகள் என பல துறைகளில் தொண்டாற்றியவர். இவரைப் பற்றி தமிழகத்தின் பாவலர் ஐயா கதிர் முத்தையனாரும், லண்டனை சேர்ந்த சுரதா முருகையனாரும் நூல்களை எழுதியுள்ளனர். இவர் தமிழ் உயர்வுக்காக தமிழ் பண்பாட்டு இயக்கத்தை தோற்றுவித்து, அதன் தலைவராக தொண்டாற்றினார். இனம், மொழி, பண்பாடு காக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று காலமெல்லாம் முழங்கியதோடு அதற்குரிய ஆக்கப்பூர்வமான பணிகளையும் மேற்கொண்ட இர.ந.வீரப்பன் 1999ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 3ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
