The Visva-Bharati Act, 1951:
✒️It was enacted on 9th May 1951 & came into force on 14th May 1951, to declare the institution known as "Visva-Bharati" to be an institution of national importance and to provide for its functioning as a unitary teaching and residential university.
The Jute Packaging Materials (Compulsory Use in Packing Commodities) Act, 1987:
✒️It was enacted on 9th May 1987 & came into force on 14th May 1987, to provide for the compulsory use of jute packaging material in the supply and distribution of certain commodities in the interests of production of raw jute and jute packaging material, and of persons engaged in the production thereof, and for matters connected therewith.
கோபால கிருஷ்ண கோகலே - Gopal Krishna Gokhale - Political Leader - Social Reformer :
✒️Gopal Krishna Gokhale, the political guru of Mahatma Gandhi, was born on May 9, 1866, in Maharashtra. He became a member of the Indian National Congress in 1889. He worked alongside leaders, including Tilak. He adhered to two key principles: eschewing violence and bringing about reforms within government institutions. He was elected to the Mumbai Legislative Council in 1899. He strove to secure greater privileges for Indians in matters of public administration. Aiming to eradicate superstitions and social indignities, he advocated for appropriate legislation to prevent the atrocities associated with child marriage. In 1905, he became the President of the Indian National Congress. He founded the organization known as "The Servants of India Society". Gokhale, who continued to strive for the cause of politics until the very end of his life, passed away on February 19, 1915.
✒️மகாத்மா காந்தியின் அரசியல் குருவான கோபால கிருஷ்ண கோகலே 1866ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 9ஆம் தேதி மகாராஷ்டிராவில் பிறந்தார். இவர் 1889ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய தேசிய காங்கிரஸில் உறுப்பினரானார். திலகர் உள்ளிட்ட தலைவர்களுடன் இணைந்து பணிபுரிந்தார். இவர் வன்முறையைத் தவிர்த்து, அரசு நிறுவனங்களில் சீர்திருத்தத்தைக் கொண்டுவருவது ஆகிய இரு முக்கிய கொள்கைகளைப் பின்பற்றினார். இவர் 1899ஆம் ஆண்டு மும்பை சட்டப் பேரவைக்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். இந்தியர்களுக்குப் பொதுத்துறை விஷயங்களில் அதிக முன்னுரிமைகள் பெற்றுத்தர போராடினார். மூடநம்பிக்கைகள் மற்றும் இழிவுப்படுத்தல்களை தூய்மைப்படுத்த எண்ணி, குழந்தை திருமண வன்கொடுமைகளைத் தடுத்திடும் நோக்கில் ஏற்புடைய சட்டத்தை விரும்பினார். 1905ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய தேசிய காங்கிரஸின் தலைவரானார். இந்திய சேவகர்கள் சங்கம் (Servants of India Society) என்ற அமைப்பை உருவாக்கினார். தன்னுடைய வாழ்நாள் இறுதிவரையிலும் தொடர்ந்து அரசியலுக்காகவே பாடுபட்ட கோகலே 1915ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 19ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

அன்னமாச்சார்யா - Tallapaka Annamacharya - Composer - Writer - Saint :
✒️Annamacharya, who originated many traditions in the world of music, was born on May 9, 1408 in the village of Tallapaka in Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. He is considered to be the creator of pallavi, anupallavi, charanam etc. in songs. He wrote more than 32,000 hymns. Of that, only 14,000 have been received. He also has the distinction of anchoring the bhajan tradition. It is said that traces of his writings were found in a room opposite to the Tirupati Temple Undiyal (Money Box). He has also written many books in languages like Sanskrit and Telugu. A Telugu film 'Annamayya' based on his life was released in 1997 and became a huge success. He died on April 4, 1503, who said that the relationship between God and man is the divine relationship without any differences.
✒️இசை உலகில் பல மரபுகளைத் தோற்றுவித்த அன்னமாச்சார்யா 1408ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 9ஆம் தேதி ஆந்திர மாநிலம் கடப்பா மாவட்டத்தில் தாளப்பாக்கம் என்ற கிராமத்தில் பிறந்தார். இவர்தான் பாடல்களில் பல்லவி, அனுபல்லவி, சரணம் போன்றவைகளை உருவாக்கியவர் என கருதப்படுகிறது. 32,000-க்கும் அதிகமான கீர்த்தனைகளை எழுதியுள்ளார். அதில் 14,000 மட்டுமே கிடைத்துள்ளன. மேலும், பஜனை மரபினைத் தொகுத்து வழங்கிய சிறப்பும் இவருக்குள்ளது. இவர் எழுதிய ஓலைச் சுவடிகள் திருப்பதி கோவில் உண்டியலுக்கு எதிரே ஒரு அறையில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்டதாக கூறப்படுகிறது. சமஸ்கிருதம், தெலுங்கு போன்ற மொழிகளிலும் பல நூல்களை எழுதியுள்ளார். இவரது வாழ்க்கையை வைத்து தயாரிக்கப்பட்ட 'அன்னமய்யா" என்ற தெலுங்கு திரைப்படம் 1997ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளியாகி பெரும் வெற்றி பெற்றது. எந்த வேறுபாடுகளும் இல்லாத தெய்வீகத் தொடர்புதான் இறைவனுக்கும், மனிதனுக்கும் இடையே உள்ள தொடர்பு என்று கூறிய இவர் 1503ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 4ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
