The Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 :
✒️It was enacted & enforced on 18th May 1955, to amend and codify the law relating to marriage among Hindus.
The Air Force Act, 1950 :
✒️It was enacted on 18th May 1950 & came into force on 22nd July, to consolidate and amend the law relating to the government of the Air Force.
The Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products (Prohibition of Advertisement and Regulation of Trade and Commerce, Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 :
✒️It was enacted on 18th May 2003 & came into force on 1st December 2007, to prohibit the advertisement of, and to provide for the regulation of trade and commerce in, and production, supply and distribution of, cigarettes and other tobacco products and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
உலக எய்ட்ஸ் தடுப்பூசி தினம் - World AIDS Vaccine Day (The day is observed to raise awareness of the continued need for a vaccine) :
✒️உலக எய்ட்ஸ் தடுப்பூசி தினம் ஆண்டுதோறும் மே 18ஆம் தேதி அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. எச்.ஐ.வி. தடுப்பூசி ஆராய்ச்சியின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை பற்றி நாடு முழுவதும் விழிப்புணர்வு ஏற்படுத்த இத்தினம் 1998ஆம் ஆண்டிலிருந்து கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
- தடுப்பூசி கண்டுபிடிப்பதன் மூலம் எய்ட்ஸ் ஆபத்தைக் குறைக்க முடியும். இதனை கண்டுபிடிக்க விஞ்ஞானிகளும், மருத்துவர்களும் முயன்று வருகின்றனர். எச்.ஐ.வி தடுப்பூசியை கண்டுபிடிக்க ஒன்றாக இணைந்து செயல்படும் விஞ்ஞானிகளுக்காகவும் இத்தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
சர்வதேச அருங்காட்சியக தினம் - International Museum Day (The day is observed to promote significant of museum) :
✒️ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் மே 18ஆம் தேதி உலகளாவிய ரீதியில் சர்வதேச அருங்காட்சியக தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. அருங்காட்சியகங்களின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை மக்களுக்கு உணர்த்துவதற்கும், அதேபோல இது பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வை ஏற்படுத்துவதற்கும், இத்தினம் 1977ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் கொண்டாடப்படுகின்றது.
ஹெச்.டி.தேவ கௌடா - Haradanahalli Doddegowda Deve Gowda - Former Prime Minister of India (11th prime minister) - Former Chief Minister of Karnataka - National President of the Janata Dal (Secular) party :
✒️ஹெச்.டி.தேவ கௌடா என்று பரவலாக அறியப்படும் ஹரதனஹல்லி தொட்டெகௌடா தேவெ கௌடா 1933ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 18ஆம் தேதி மைசூரில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் இந்திய பிரதமராகவும், கர்நாடக மாநிலத்தின் முதல் அமைச்சராகவும் இருந்தவர் ஆவார்.
- 1962ஆம் ஆண்டில் மாநிலச் சட்டப்பேரவைக்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். 1980ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்கட்சி பிளவுபட்டபோது ஜனதா தளம் கட்சியை உருவாக்க பெரும் பங்காற்றினார்.
- 1999ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனதா தளம் கட்சியிலிருந்து வெளியேறி ஜனதா தளம் (எஸ்) என்ற கட்சியை உருவாக்கினார்.

🌟 1974ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 18ஆம் தேதி சிரிக்கும் புத்தர் என்று பெயரிடப்பட்ட திட்டத்தில் இந்தியா தனது முதலாவது அணுகுண்டை வெற்றிகரமாக சோதித்தது - On May 18, 1974, India successfully tested its first atomic bomb project the "Smiling Buddha".
🌟 தமிழின அழிப்பு நாள் : இலங்கையின் வடக்கு மாகாண சபையில் மே 18ஆம் தேதி தமிழின அழிப்பு நாள் என பிரகடனம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது - Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day (Mullivaikal massacre) : May 18 has been declared Tamil Genocide Day in the Northern Provincial Council of Sri Lanka.
