G.T.Act - International Day of Families - Pierre Curie, Physicist - James Buckle, World's First Machine Gun Patent - Sukhdev, India's Independence Activist - May 15

Dear Readers, today we would like to remind you once again of some of the things that happened today. It's might be about World Leaders, Inventions, Inventors, Freedom fighters, the people who made the world look back. It can also be about an event. 

In that line today we are going to know about "G.T.Act - International Day of Families - Pierre Curie, Physicist -  James Buckle, World's First Machine Gun Patent - Sukhdev, India's Independence Activist."

The Gift-tax Act, 1958 :

✒️It was enacted on 15th May 1958 & as per sec 1(3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on 1st April, 1958, to provide for the levy of gift-tax. (The Gift Tax Act, 1958 was abolished and ceased to exist on October 1, 1998. However, the taxation of gifts has not completely vanished in India; it was reintroduced in a different form. As of 2026, the taxation of gifts is governed under the Income Tax Act, 1961, specifically Section 56(2)(x)).

சர்வதேச குடும்ப தினம் - International Day of Families :

✒️The United Nations declared in 1993 that the International Day of Families is celebrated annually on May 15. It is observed to promote equality among families and realize the contribution of families in household responsibilities, career opportunities, education and employment. International Day of Families emphasizes that no one, no matter what the situation, no matter what age, should support the family without abandoning it.

✒️ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை 1993ஆம் ஆண்டு பிரகடனப்படுத்தப்பட்டு ஆண்டுதோறும் மே 15ஆம் தேதி சர்வதேச குடும்ப தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

• குடும்பங்களுக்கிடையே சமத்துவத்தை வளர்க்கவும், வீட்டு பொறுப்புகள், தொழில் வாய்ப்புகள், கல்வி மற்றும் வேலைவாய்ப்பில் குடும்பங்களின் பங்களிப்பை உணர்த்தவும் இத்தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

• எந்த சூழ்நிலையிலும், எந்த வயதினிலும், யாரும் குடும்பத்தை கைவிடாமல் ஆதரவளிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதை சர்வதேச குடும்ப தினம் வலியுறுத்துகிறது.

பியரி கியூரி - Pierre Curie - French Physicist - Pioneer in Crystallography, Magnetism, Piezoelectricity & Radioactivity :

✒️மனிதகுல மேம்பாட்டிற்கான பல சிறந்த கண்டுபிடிப்புகளை கண்டறிந்த பியரி கியூரி 1859ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 15ஆம் தேதி பாரிஸில் பிறந்தார். இவர் 21-வது வயதில் தன் சகோதரருடன் இணைந்து அறிவியல் ஆராய்ச்சியில் ஈடுபட்டு பியூசோ மின் குவார்ட்ஸ் மின்னோட்டமானியை (Piezo Electric Effect) கண்டறிந்தனர்.

• இவர் காந்த குணங்களைக் கண்டறிவதற்காக முறுக்குத் தராசு (Torsion Balance) ஒன்றை உருவாக்கினார். பிறகு காந்தப் பொருட்கள் வெப்பத்தால் அடையும் மாற்றம் பற்றி இவர் கண்டறிந்த விதிமுறை கியூரி விதி எனப்படுகிறது.

• தன் மனைவி மேரி கியூரியுடன் இணைந்து ரேடியம் மற்றும் பொலோனியம் தனிமங்களைப் பிரித்தெடுக்கும் முயற்சியில் ஈடுபட்டு வெற்றி கண்டனர். இவர்கள்தான் கதிரியக்கம் (Radioactivity) என்ற சொல்லை முதலில் பயன்படுத்தினார்கள்.

• கதிரியக்கத்தைக் கண்டறிந்தமைக்காக 1903ஆம் ஆண்டு ஹென்றி பெக்கெரல், மேரி கியூரியுடன் சேர்ந்து இயற்பியலுக்கான நோபல் பரிசை வென்றார். காந்தப் புலங்களைப் பயன்படுத்தி ஆல்பா, பீட்டா, காமா கதிர்களை கண்டறிந்தனர். கதிரியக்கத்தை அளக்கப் பயன்படும் அலகு கியூரி அலகு என்று குறிப்பிடப்பட்டது.

• நோபல் பரிசுக் குடும்பத்தில் பிறந்த கதிரியக்கக் கண்டுபிடிப்பின் முன்னோடியான பியரி கியூரி தனது 46வது வயதில் (19.04.1906) மறைந்தார்.

🌟 1718ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 15ஆம் தேதி உலகின் முதலாவது இயந்திரத் துப்பாக்கிக்கான காப்புரிமத்தை லண்டனைச் சேர்ந்த வழக்கறிஞர் ஜேம்ஸ் பக்கிள் பெற்றார் - On May 15, 1718, James Buckle, a lawyer from London, received the patent for the world's first machine gun.

SukhDev - Independence Activist

🌟 1907ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 15ஆம் தேதி இந்திய விடுதலைக்காக வீரமரணம் அடைந்து, இன்றும் பல இளைஞர்களுக்கு உந்து சக்தியாக திகழும் சுகதேவ் பஞ்சாப் மாநிலம் லூதியானாவில் பிறந்தார் - On 15 May 1907, Sukhdev, who died a heroic death for India's freedom and is still an inspiration to many youths, was born in Ludhiana, Punjab.
