The Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984 :
✒️It was enacted on 16th March 1984 & as per Sec 1(3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on 28th January, 1984, to provide for prevention of damage to public property and for matters connected therewith.
✒️Sec 2 (b) public property" means any property, whether immovable or movable (including any machinery) which is owned by, or in the possession of, or under the control of—
(i) the Central Government; or
(ii) any State Government; or
(iii) any local authority; or
(iv) any corporation established by, or under, a Central, Provincial or State Act; or
(v) any company as defined in section 617 of the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956); or
(vi) any institution, concern or undertaking which the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify in this behalf:
Provided that the Central Government shall not specify any institution, concern or undertaking under this sub-clause unless such institution, concern or undertaking is financed wholly or substantially by funds provided directly or indirectly by the Central Government or by one or more State Governments, or partly by the Central Government and partly by one or more State Governments.
தேசிய தடுப்பூசி தினம் - National Vaccination Day :
✒️National Vaccination Day is being observed on March 16 to eradicate polio from the country. Polio is a deadly childhood disease that can permanently paralyze children's limbs. Polio germs are spread among children through contaminated water and food. The Polio Eradication Movement was started in 1995 in India to eradicate polio. And India was declared polio-free in 2014 with bi-annual polio vaccinations across the country.
✒️போலியோவை நாட்டிலிருந்தே விரட்டவேண்டும் என்பதற்காக மார்ச் 16ஆம் தேதி தேசிய தடுப்பூசி தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. போலியோ என்ற கொடிய இளம்பிள்ளைவாத நோய் குழந்தைகளின் கைகால்களை நிரந்தரமாக செயலிழக்கச் செய்கின்றன. போலியோ நுண்கிருமிகள் அசுத்தமான தண்ணீர் மற்றும் உணவுப் பொருட்கள் மூலம் குழந்தைகளிடையே பரவுகின்றன. போலியோவை ஒழிப்பதற்காக 1995ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்தியாவில் போலியோ ஒழிப்பு இயக்கம் துவங்கப்பட்டது. ஆண்டிற்கு இரண்டுமுறை போலியோ சொட்டு மருந்து நாடு முழுவதும் வழங்கப்பட்டதன் மூலம் 2014ஆம் ஆண்டு போலியோ அற்ற நாடாக இந்தியா அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது.

முனைவர் இரா.திருமுருகன் - R.Thirumurugan - Tamil Scholar :
✒️Thirumurugan, a great Tamil scholar and a master of Literary Tamil and Music Tamil, was born on March 16, 1929 in a town called Kunichampet in the Puducherry state. His birth name is Subramanian. Due to his love for Tamil, he changed his name to Thirumurugan. He led many struggles for Tamil development. In Puduvai, the Tamil Official Language Act should be implemented. Based on that, he voiced that government employees must sign in Tamil. He was involved in the creation of a new grammar for Tamil and the development of the Tamil Yapilakanam. He has received many awards and titles including Ilakkana chudar, Iyalisai Semmel, Muthamizh Chaandror, Nallasiriyar, Mozhipor Maravar, Pavalar Arima, Kalaiselvam. He is known as the sea of grammar. He has written 55 historical books. His 40 years of Tamil works have been featured in books published under the name Tamiliyakkam. R.Thirumurugan, who worked till the end for Tamil development and welfare of Tamils, passed away on June 3, 2009.
✒️ சிறந்த தமிழ் அறிஞரும், இயற்றமிழ், இசைத்தமிழில் வல்லவருமான முனைவர் இரா.திருமுருகன் 1929ஆம் ஆண்டு மார்ச் 16ஆம் தேதி புதுச்சேரி மாநிலத்தில் கூனிச்சம்பட்டு என்ற ஊரில் பிறந்தார். இவரின் இயற்பெயர் சுப்பிரமணியன். தமிழ் மீதான பற்றால் தன் பெயரை திருமுருகன் என மாற்றிக்கொண்டார். தமிழ் வளர்ச்சிக்காகவே பல போராட்டங்களை முன்னின்று நடத்தியவர். புதுவையில் தமிழ் ஆட்சிமொழி சட்டத்தை நடைமுறைப்படுத்த வேண்டும். அதன் அடிப்படையில் அரசு ஊழியர்கள் கட்டாயம் தமிழிலேயே கையெழுத்திட வேண்டும் என்று குரல் கொடுத்தவர். தமிழுக்கு புதிய இலக்கணம் உருவாக்குவதிலும், இசைத்தமிழ் யாப்பிலக்கணம் உருவாக்குவதிலும் ஈடுபட்டார். இலக்கணச்சுடர், இயல்இசை செம்மல், முத்தமிழ் சான்றோர், நல்லாசிரியர், மொழிப்போர் மறவர், பாவலர் அரிமா, கலைச்செல்வம் உள்ளிட்ட பல விருதுகள் மற்றும் பட்டங்களை பெற்றுள்ளார். இலக்கணக் கடல் எனப் புகழப்பட்டவர். இவர் 55 வரலாற்று நூல்களை எழுதியுள்ளார். இவரது 40 ஆண்டுகால தமிழ்ப் பணிகள், தமிழியக்கம் என்ற பெயரில் வெளியான நூல்களில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளன. தமிழ் வளர்ச்சி, தமிழர் நலனுக்காகவே இறுதிவரை பணியாற்றிய இரா.திருமுருகன் 2009ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜுன் 3ஆம் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
