The Prisoners Act, 1900 :
✒️It was enacted and enforced on 2nd February 1900, to consolidate the law relating to Prisoners confined by order of a Court.
உலக ஈரநிலங்கள் தினம் - World Wetlands Day :
✒️A resolution was brought at the Ramsar Convention on the Protection of Wetlands in the Caribbean Sea of Iran on February 2, 1971, that biodiversity resources and culture should be protected by protecting wetlands. Keeping this in mind, this festival is observed internationally on 2nd February every year.
- ஈரநிலங்களைப் பாதுகாப்பதன் மூலம் பல்லுயிர் வளங்கள் மற்றும் கலாச்சாரம் பாதுகாக்கப்பட வேண்டும் என்று பிப்ரவரி 2ஆம் தேதி 1971ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஈரான் நாட்டின் கரீபியன் கடற்பகுதியில் ராம்சர் (Ramsar) என்னுமிடத்தில் ஈரநிலங்களைப் பாதுகாத்தல் சம்பந்தமாக நடைபெற்ற மாநாட்டில் தீர்மானம் கொண்டுவரப்பட்டது.
- இதனைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டே ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் பிப்ரவரி 2ஆம் தேதி அன்று சர்வதேச அளவில் இத்தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. உலகில் ஏறக்குறைய 1112 ஈரநிலப்பகுதிகள் காணப்படுவதுடன் அவை மொத்தமாக 89.37 மில்லியன் ஹெக்டர் நிலப்பகுதிகளைக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றன.
- சுற்றுலா தலங்களை உருவாக்குதல், ரியல் எஸ்டேட் தொழில்கள் ஆகியனவும் நமது நீர்நிலைகளின் ஆக்கிரமிப்புகளும் மற்றும் பராமரிப்பு இன்மையும் இந்த நிலங்களை பாழ்படுத்திவருகிறது. எனவே, இந்த நிலங்களை பாதுகாக்கவும் அதன் பயன்களை மக்களிடம் கொண்டு செல்லவும் இந்த தினத்தை நாம் பயன்படுத்திக் கொள்ளவேண்டும்.
பா.வே.மாணிக்க நாயக்கர் - Pa.Ve.Manicka Nayakar - Tamil scholar and Engineer :
✒️The great Tamil scholar and engineer P.V.Manicka Nayakar was born on 2nd February, 1871 in Pagalpatti, Salem district. He joined the Public Works Department as a construction engineer in 1896. He proved that words in all languages of the world can be written using Tamil alphabets. He constantly insisted that a separate university should be established for Tamil. He has written many books. He coined and used many scientific terms from Tamil root words. He made more than 60 inventions in the field of engineering and died in 1931.
- சிறந்த தமிழ் அறிஞரும், பொறியியலாளருமான பா.வே.மாணிக்க நாயக்கர் 1871ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 2ஆம் தேதி சேலம் மாவட்டம் பாகல்பட்டியில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் 1896ஆம் ஆண்டு பொதுப்பணித் துறையில் கட்டுமானப் பொறியாளராக சேர்ந்தார். தமிழ் எழுத்துக்களைக் கொண்டு உலகின் அனைத்து மொழிகளில் உள்ள சொற்களையும் எழுத முடியும் என்று நிரூபித்தார்.
- தமிழுக்கென தனி பல்கலைக்கழகம் உருவாக வேண்டும் என்று தொடர்ந்து வலியுறுத்தியவர். இவர் பல நூல்களை எழுதியுள்ளார். தமிழ் வேர்ச் சொற்களில் இருந்து பல அறிவியல் சொற்களை உருவாக்கிப் பயன்படுத்தினார்.
- பொறியியல் துறையில் 60-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட கண்டுபிடிப்புகளை கண்டறிந்த இவர் 1931ஆம் ஆண்டு மறைந்தார்.
திமீத்ரி மெண்டெலீவ் - Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev - Russian Chemist and Inventor :
✒️Today is his memorial day!
✒️Dimitri Mendeleev, known as the father of the periodic table, was born on February 8, 1834 in Tobolsk, Russia. He wrote the book Principles of Chemistry (1868-70). He then developed a periodic table based on the atomic mass of the elements instead of ordering the chemical elements based on their properties. He presented it to the Russian Chemical Society on March 6, 1869. He also completed the table by anticipating the nature of many undiscovered elements in that table. Mendeleev died on February 2, 1907 after making a remarkable achievement in defining the nature of the elements.

- தனிம வரிசை அட்டவணையின் தந்தை என அழைக்கப்படும் திமீத்ரி மெண்டெலீவ் 1834ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 8ஆம் தேதி ரஷ்யாவிலுள்ள சைபீரியாவில் தோபோல்ஸ்க் என்ற இடத்தில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் வேதியியலின் தத்துவங்கள் (1868-1870) என்ற நூலை எழுதினார். பிறகு வேதியியல் தனிமங்களை அவற்றின் பண்புகளின் அடிப்படையில் வரிசைப்படுத்தாமல், தனிமங்களின் அணு நிறையை அடிப்படையாகக்கொண்டு ஆவர்த்தன அட்டவணையை உருவாக்கினார்.
- இதனை மார்ச் 6ஆம் தேதி 1869ஆம் ஆண்டு ரஷ்ய வேதியியல் கழகத்தில் சமர்ப்பித்தார். மேலும் அந்த அட்டவணையில் பல கண்டுபிடிக்கப்படாத தனிமங்களின் இயல்புகளை எதிர்வு கூறி கொண்டு அட்டவணையை முழுமைப்படுத்தியிருந்தார்.
- தனிமங்களின் இயல்புகளை வரையறுத்து குறிப்பிடத்தக்க சாதனையை செய்த மெண்டெலீவ் 1907ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 2ஆம் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟 1790ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 2ஆம் தேதி வீரபாண்டிய கட்டபொம்மன் 47வது பாளையக்காரராகப் பொறுப்பு ஏற்றுக்கொண்டார் - On February 2, 1790, Veerapandiya Kattabomman assumed charge as the 47th Palayakarrar.
