The Competition Act, 2002 :
✒️It was enacted on 13th January 2003 and came into force on 31st March 2003, to provide, keeping in view of the economic development of the country, for the establishment of a Commission to prevent practices having adverse effect on competition, to promote and sustain competition in markets, to protect the interests of consumers and to ensure freedom of trade carried on by other participants in markets, in India, and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
The Legal Metrology Act, 2009 :
✒️It was enacted on 13th January 2010 & came into force on 1st March 2011, to establish and enforce standards of weights and measures, regulate trade and commerce in weights, measures and other goods which are sold or distributed by weight, measure or number and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

ராகேஷ் ஷர்மா - Rakesh Sharma - Indian Pilot, Cosmonaut & First Indian to Travel in Space :
✒️Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian to travel in space, was born on January 13, 1949 in Patiala district of Punjab. He joined the Indian Air Force as a trainee pilot in 1970. His journey as an astronaut began on September 20, 1982. As a result, Rakesh entered the history page on April 2, 1984. Later, due to his experience as a pilot for more than ten years, Rakesh was appointed as the head of a group of the aviation squadron in 1984. He and two Russian cosmonauts traveled to space aboard the Soyuz T11 spacecraft. He spent eight days in the Salyut 7 space station. Rakesh Sharma was awarded the Ashoka Chakra in recognition of his work.
- விண்வெளியில் பயணம் செய்த முதல் இந்தியர் என்ற பெருமையைப் பெற்ற ராகேஷ் ஷர்மா 1949ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 13ஆம் தேதி பஞ்சாப் மாநிலத்தின் பாட்டியாலா மாவட்டத்தில் பிறந்தார். இவர் 1970ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய விமானப் படையில் பயிற்சி பைலட்டாகப் பணியேற்றார். ஒரு விண்வெளி வீரராக அவருடைய பயணம் 1982ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 20ஆம் தேதி தொடங்கியது. இதன் விளைவாக ராகேஷ், 1984ஆம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல் 2ஆம் தேதி சரித்திரத்தின் சாதனைப் பக்கத்தில் இடம் பிடித்தார். பிறகு சுமார் பத்து ஆண்டுகளுக்கு மேலாக பைலட்டாக இருந்த அனுபவத்தின் காரணமாக 1984ஆம் ஆண்டில் விமானப் படைப்பிரிவின் ஒரு குழுவுக்கு ராகேஷ் தலைவராக நியமிக்கப்பட்டார். இவரும், ரஷ்ய விண்வெளி வீரர்கள் இருவரும் சோயுஸ் டி 11 விண்கலத்தில் விண்வெளிக்குப் பயணம் சென்றார்கள். சல்யூட் 7 என்னும் விண்வெளி மையத்தில் இவர் எட்டு நாட்கள் தங்கியிருந்தார். ராகேஷ் சர்மா அவர்களின் பணிகளை பாராட்டி அசோகா சக்ரா விருது கிடைத்தது.
ஆர்.பாலச்சந்திரன் - R. Balachandran (popularly known as poet Bala) - Professor - Writer & Educator :
✒️R.Balachandran, popularly known as poet Bala, was born on January 13, 1946 in Sivagangai. He retired as the Head of English Department and Professor of Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. He was also a member of the Executive Committee of Sahitya Akademi. Surrealism, Bharati and Keats are some of his notable contributions to Tamil literature. A multifaceted educator, poet, writer and professor, was passed away on September 22, 2009.
- கவிஞர் பாலா என அழைக்கப்படும் ஆர்.பாலச்சந்திரன் 1946ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 13ஆம் தேதி சிவகங்கையில் பிறந்தார். இவர் மனோன்மணியம் சுந்தரனார் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தின் ஆங்கிலத் துறைத் தலைவராகவும், பேராசிரியராகவும் பணியாற்றி ஓய்வு பெற்றவர். மேலும் இவர் சாகித்ய அகாடமியின் நிர்வாக்குழு உறுப்பினராக இருந்தார். சர்ரியலிசம், பாரதியும் கீட்சும் ஆகிய புத்தகங்கள் தமிழ் இலக்கியத்திற்கு இவரின் குறிப்பிடத்தக்க பங்களிப்புகள் ஆகும். கல்வியாளர், கவிஞர், எழுத்தாளர், பேராசிரியர் என பன்முகத்திறமை கொண்ட இவர் 2009ஆம் ஆண்டு செப்டம்பர் 22ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
வில்லெம் வீன் - Wilhelm Carl Werner Otto Fritz Franz Wien - German Physicist :
✒️Wilhelm Wien, was born on January 13, 1864 in Russia. He developed important theories in the fields of thermodynamics and electromagnetism. In 1911, he won the Nobel Prize in Physics for his research on thermal radiation. Such a great scientist passed away on 30 August 1928.
- வில்லெம் வீன் என்றழைக்கப்படும் வில்ஹெல்ம் கார்ல் வெர்னர் ஓட்டோ ஃப்ரிட்ஸ் பிரான்ஸ் வீன் 1864ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 13ஆம் தேதி ரஷ்யாவில் பிறந்தார். இவர் வெப்பவியல், மின்காந்தவியல் துறைகளில் முக்கியக் கோட்பாடுகளை உருவாக்கியவர். 1911ஆம் ஆண்டு வெப்பக் கதிர் வீச்சு பற்றிய ஆய்வுகளுக்காக இயற்பியல் துறையில் நோபல் பரிசு பெற்றார். இவர் 1928ஆம் ஆண்டு மறைந்தார்.

🌟1948ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 13ஆம் தேதி தேசப்பிதா மகாத்மா காந்தி, இந்து-முஸ்லிம் ஒற்றுமையை நிலைநாட்ட சாகும்வரை உண்ணாவிரதத்தைத் தொடங்கினார் - On 13th January 1948, The Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi started fasting to death to maintain Hindu-Muslim unity.
