The Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights) Act, 2006 :

✒️It was enacted 29th December 2006 and came into force on 31st December 2007, to recognise and vest the forest rights and occupation in forest land in forest dwelling Scheduled Tribes and other traditional forest dwellers who have been residing in such forests for generations but whose rights could not be recorded; to provide for a framework for recording the forest rights so vested and the nature of evidence required for such recognition and vesting in respect of forest land.


The Slum Areas (Improvement and Clearance) Act, 1956 :

✒️It was enacted on 29th December 1956 & came into force on 8th February 1957, to provide for the improvement and clearance of slum areas in certain Union territories and for the protection of tenants in such areas from eviction.


The Foreign Exchange Management Act, 1999 :

✒️It was enacted on 29th December 1999 and came into force on 1st June 2000, to consolidate and amend the law relating to foreign exchange with the objective of facilitating external trade and payments and for promoting the orderly development and maintenance of foreign exchange market in India.


The Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007 :

✒️It was enacted on 29th December 2007, to provide for more effective provisions for the maintenance and welfare of parents and senior citizens guaranteed and recognised under the Constitution and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.


The Infant Milk Substitutes, Feeding Bottles and Infant Foods (Regulation of Production, Supply and Distribution) Act, 1992 :

✒️It was enacted on 29th December 1992 and came into force on 1st August 1993, to provide for the regulation of production, supply and distribution of infant milk substitutes, feeding bottles and infant foods with a view to the protection and promotion of breast-feeding and ensuring the proper use of infant foods and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.


The Seeds Act, 1966 :

✒️It was enacted on 29th December 1966 and came into force on 2nd September 1968, to provide for regulating the quality of certain seeds for sale, and for matters connected therewith.


Kuvempu - Poet

குவெம்பு - Kuvempu - Indian Poet & Writer :

✒️Kuppali Venkatappa Puttappa, popularly known as Indian writer K.V.Puttappa, was born on 29th December 1904 in Karnataka. Considered the greatest poet of 20th century Kannada literature. Puttappa wrote all his works under the pseudonym "Kuvempu". He wrote the story of Ramayana in modern Kannada as "Sri Ramayana Darshanam". He has received many awards like Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Sahitya Akademi Award, Jnanpith Award etc. Hailed as national poet, he passed away on 11th November 1994 at the age of 89.

  • இந்திய எழுத்தாளர் கே.வி.புட்டப்பா என்று பரவலாக அறியப்படும் குப்பாலி வெங்கடப்பகௌடா புட்டப்பா 1904ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 29ஆம் தேதி கர்நாடகாவில் பிறந்தார்.

  • 20ஆம் நூற்றாண்டு கன்னட இலக்கியத்தின் பெரும் கவிஞராகப் போற்றப்படுபவர். புட்டப்பா தன்னுடைய படைப்புகள் அனைத்தையும் குவெம்பு என்ற புனைப்பெயரில் எழுதியுள்ளார்.

  • இவர் இராமாயணக் கதையை நவீன கன்னடத்தில் ஸ்ரீ ராமாயண தரிசனம் என்று எழுதியுள்ளார். கர்நாடக மாநில நாட்டுப்பண்ணான ஜெய பாரத ஜனனீய தனுஜாதே இவர் எழுதியதாகும்.

  • இவர் பத்ம பூஷண், பத்மவி பூஷண், சாகித்திய அகாடமி விருது, ஞானபீட விருது போன்ற பல விருதுகளை பெற்றுள்ளார். இராஷ்ட்ரகவி என்று பாராட்டப்பட்ட இவர் தன்னுடைய 89வது வயதில், 1994ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 11ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟ஸ்காட்டிஷ் வேதியியலாளர் சார்லஸ் மேகிண்டோஷ், நவீன நீர்ப்புகா துணிப் பொருளைக் கண்டுபிடித்தவர், டிசம்பர் 29, 1766 இல் பிறந்தார் - Charles Macintosh  Scottish Chemist, inventor of the modern waterproof fabric material, was born 29th December 1766.


🌟தாமஸ் ஆல்வா எடிசன், 1891 டிசம்பர் 29-ஆம் தேதி வானொலிக்கான காப்புரிமம் பெற்றார் - Thomas Alva Edison patented the radio on December 29, 1891. 


🌟1987ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 27ந்தேதியுடன், 326 நாட்கள் விண்வெளியில் பயணித்த சோவியத் விண்வெளி வீரரான யூரி ரொமானின்கோ பூமி திரும்பினார் - On December 27, 1987, Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Romanenko returned to Earth after spending 326 days in space.


 🌟உலகின் மிகப்பெரிய செம்பினால் ஆன புத்தர் சிலை, 1993-ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 29ஆம் தேதி ஹாங்காங்கில் நிறுவப்பட்டது - The world's largest bronze Buddha statue was installed in Hong Kong on December 29, 1993.
