The Citizenship Act, 1955 :

✒️It was enacted and enforced on 30th December 1955, to provide for the acquisition and determination of Indian citizenship. The said act amended five times - 1986, 2003, 2005, 2015 & 2019. *The Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019* was passed by the Parliament of India on 11 December 2019. It amended the Citizenship Act, 1955 by providing a pathway to Indian citizenship for persecuted religious minorities from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan who are Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis or Christians, and arrived in India before the end of December 2014.


The Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999:

✒️It was enacted on 30th December 1999 and came into force on 15th September 2003, to provide for the registration and better protection of geographical indications relating to goods.


The Trade Marks Act, 1999 :

✒️It was enacted on 30th December 1999 and came into force on 15th September 2003, to amend and consolidate the law relating to trade marks, to provide for registration and better protection of trade marks for goods and services and for the prevention of the use of fraudulent marks.


The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 :

✒️It was enacted on 30th December 1956 and came into force on 1st May 1958, to provide in pursuance of the International Convention signed at New York on the 9th day of May, 1950, for the Prevention of Immoral Traffic.


The Inland Waterways Authority of India Act, 1985 :

✒️It was enacted on 30th December 1985 and came into force on 27th October 1986, to provide for the constitution of an Authority for the regulation and development of inland waterways for purposes of shipping and navigation and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.


The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 :

✒️It was enacted & enforced on 30th December 1967, to provide for the more effective prevention of certain unlawful activities of individuals and associations, and for dealing with terrorist activities, and for matters connected therewith.

The Unorganised Workers Social Security Act, 2008 :

✒️It was enacted on 30th December 2008 & came into force on 16th May 2009, to provide for the social security and welfare of unorganised workers and for other matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

The Public Financial Institutions (Obligation as to Fidelity and Secrecy) Act, 1983 :

✒️It was enacted & enforced on 30th December 1983, to provide for the obligation of public financial institutions as to fidelity and secrecy.

The Central Boards of Revenue Act, 1963 :

✒️It was enacted on 30th December 1963 & came into force on 1st January 1964, to provide for the constitution of separate Boards of Revenue for Direct Taxes and for Excise and Customs and to amend certain enactments for the purpose of conferring powers and imposing duties on the said Boards.

The Women's and Children's Institutions (Licensing) Act, 1956 :

✒️It was enacted and enforced on 30th december 1956, to provide for the licensing of institutions for women and children and for matters incidental thereto.

  • The object of the Act is to protect the women and children from exploitation and inhuman activities going on in institutions. It mandates the institutions for women and children to get a license from the licensing authority before establishing or maintaining the institution.

  • Section 9. Penalty : Any person who contravenes any of the provisions of this Act or of any rule made thereunder, or any of the conditions of a licence shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to two hundred and fifty rupees or with both.

  • Section 10. Act not to apply to certain institutions : Nothing in this Act shall apply to―
  • (a) hostels, or boarding houses attached to, or controlled or recognised by educational institutions; or
  • (b) any protective home established under the Suppression of Immoral Traffic in Women and Girls Act, 1956 (104 of 1956).


Ramana Maharshi - Sage

இரமண மகரிஷி - Ramana Maharshi - Indian Sage :

✒️Ramana Maharshi, a spiritualist from Tamil Nadu, was born on December 30, 1879 at Tiruchuli in Virudhunagar district. His birth name is Venkataraman. He taught Advaita Vedanta and lived in Tiruvannamalai. Located in Tiruvannamalai, 'Ramana Ashram' is world famous. His successor was Yogi Ram Surat Kumar, also known as the 'Visiri Samiyar'. He died at the age of 70 (April 14, 1950).

  • தமிழகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த ஆன்மீகவாதி இரமண மகரிஷி 1879ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 30ஆம் தேதி விருதுநகர் மாவட்டத்திலுள்ள திருச்சுழியில் பிறந்தார். இவரது இயற்பெயர் வெங்கடராமன்.

  • அத்வைத வேதாந்த நெறியை போதித்த இவர், திருவண்ணாமலையில் வாழ்ந்தவர். திருவண்ணாமலையில் அமைந்துள்ள, 'இரமண ஆசிரமம்', உலகப் புகழ் பெற்றதாகும்.

  • இவரை பின்பற்றியவர் விசிறி சாமியார் என அழைக்கப்படும் யோகி ராம் சுரத் குமார் ஆவார். இவர் தன்னுடைய 70வது வயதில் (ஏப்ரல் 14, 1950) மறைந்தார்.

🌟பிரிட்டிஷ் எழுத்தாளரும் கவிஞருமான ஜோசப் ருட்யார்ட் கிப்ளிங் டிசம்பர் 30, 1865 இல் பிறந்தார் - British Writer and Poet Joseph Rudyard Kipling was born on December 30, 1865.


🌟அகில இந்திய முஸ்லிம் லீக் கட்சி டாக்காவில், 1906ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 30ஆம் தேதி ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டது - The All India Muslim League Party was founded in Dhaka on 30th December 1906.


🌟தலைசிறந்த சமஸ்கிருத அறிஞர், பேச்சாளர், ஆரிய சமாஜ தலைவரான பண்டிட் பிரகரஷ் வீர் சாஸ்திரி 1923-ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 30-ஆம் தேதி பிறந்தார் - Eminent Sanskrit scholar, orator, Arya Samaj leader Pandit Prakash Vir Shastri was born on 30th December 1923.


🌟விக்ரம் சாராபாய், இந்திய இயற்பியலாளர், இந்திய விண்வெளித் திட்டத்தின் தந்தை எனக் கருதப்படுபவர், 1971ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 30ஆம் தேதி மறைந்தார் - Vikram Sarabhai, Indian physicist, considered the father of the Indian space program, died on December 30, 1971.


🌟சதாம் உசேன், முன்னாள் ஈராக் ஜனாதிபதி, 2006ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 30ஆம் தேதி தூக்கிலிடப்பட்டார் - Saddam Hussein, Former Iraq president was executed on December 30, 2006.
