The Reserve and Auxiliary Air Forces Act, 1952 :
✒️It was enacted on 22nd August 1952 and came into force on 15th August 1955, to provide for the constitution and regulation of certain Air Force Reserve and also an Auxiliary Air Force and for matters connected therewith.
சென்னை தினம் - Chennai Day :
✒️(Today is Chennai's (Madras) birthday. Chennai Day is a special day commemorating the 22nd August 1639 AD, when Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, was founded. This Chennai Day was jointly created by journalists Shashi Nair, Mylapore Times editor Vincent D'Souza and Madras Musings editor Muthiah. This celebration, which first started in 2004 with a few black and white films, has evolved into a multi-faceted celebration of photography exhibitions, food festivals and marathons.

- சென்னை தினம் என்பது தமிழ்நாட்டின் தலைநகரமாகிய சென்னை தோற்றுவிக்கப்பட்டதாக கருதப்படும் கி.பி.1639ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 22ஆம் தேதியை நினைவூட்டும் வகையில் அமைக்கப்பெற்ற ஒரு சிறப்பு தினமாகும்.
- பத்திரிக்கையாளர்களான சசி நாயர், மயிலாப்பூர் டைம்ஸின் ஆசிரியரான வின்சண்ட் டிசோசா, மெட்ராஸ் மியூசிங்ஸின் ஆசிரியரான முத்தையா ஆகிய மூவரும் இணைந்து உருவாக்கியதே இந்த சென்னை தினம்.
- முதன் முதலில் ஒரு சில கருப்பு வெள்ளைப் படங்களுடன் 2004ஆம் ஆண்டு தொடங்கிய இந்தக் கொண்டாட்டம் இன்று வளர்ச்சியடைந்து புகைப்படக் கண்காட்சி, உணவுத் திருவிழா, மாரத்தான் ஓட்டம் என பல பரிமாணங்களில் சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகிறது.

ரே பிராட்பரி - Ray Douglas Bradbury - Author - Screenwriter :
✒️Famous American fiction writer Ray Bradbury was born on August 22, 1920 in Waukegan, Illinois, USA. He became a full-time writer in 1943. His first collection of short stories, Dark Carnival, published in 1947. In the 1950s, many of his stories were published as comic strips by EC Comics. His novel 'Fahrenheit 451' released in 1953 became world famous. He has received many awards and prizes including the US National Medal of Arts, Special Pulitzer Prize, Emmy Award. The place where the US Curiosity rover vehicle landed on Mars is named 'Bradbury Landing' after him. He used to write for several hours every day. He has written about 600 short stories, numerous poems, essays, screenplays and plays. Ray Bradbury, who breathed in writing, died on June 5, 2012.
- அமெரிக்காவின் பிரபல புனைகதை எழுத்தாளர் ரே பிராட்பரி 1920ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 22ஆம் தேதி அமெரிக்காவின் இலினாய்ஸ் மாநிலத்திலுள்ள வாகிகன் நகரில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் முழு நேர எழுத்தாளராக 1943ஆம் ஆண்டு மாறினார். 'டார்க் கார்னிவல்" என்ற இவரது முதல் சிறுகதை தொகுப்பு 1947ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளிவந்தது. 1950ஆம் ஆண்டு இவரது பல கதைகள் ஈசி காமிக்ஸ் நிறுவனத்தால் பட கதைகளாக வெளியிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- 1953ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளியான இவரது 'ஃபாரன்ஹீட் 451" புதினம் உலகப்புகழ் பெற்றது. அமெரிக்க தேசிய கலைப் பதக்கம், சிறப்பு புலிட்சர் பரிசு, எம்மி விருது உட்பட பல விருதுகள், பரிசுகளைப் பெற்றுள்ளார். செவ்வாய் கிரகத்தில் அமெரிக்காவின் கியூரியாசிட்டி ரோவர் வாகனம் தரையிறங்கிய இடத்திற்கு 'பிராட்பரி லேண்டிங்" என்று இவரது பெயர் வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
- இவர் தினமும் பல மணி நேரம் எழுதுவதை வழக்கமாக கொண்டிருந்தார். ஏறக்குறைய 600 சிறுகதைகள், ஏராளமான கவிதைகள், கட்டுரைகள், திரைக்கதைகள், நாடகங்கள் எழுதியுள்ளார். எழுத்தையே சுவாசித்து வந்த ரே பிராட்பரி 2012ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜுன் 5ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟 1982ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 22ஆம் தேதி இந்திய விடுதலைப் போராட்ட வீரர், சீர்திருத்தவாதி ஏக்நாத் ராமகிருஷ்ண ரானாடே மறைந்தார் - On August 22, 1982, Indian freedom fighter and reformer Eknath Ramakrishna Ranade passed away.
🌟 1818ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் 22ஆம் தேதி இந்தியாவின் முதலாவது தலைமை ஆளுநர் வாரன் ஹேஸ்டிங்ஸ் மறைந்தார் - Warren Hastings, the first Governor General of India, died on August 22, 1818.
