Nelson Mandela - South African Anti-Apartheid Activist & Former President

நெல்சன் மண்டேலா - Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela - Lawyer - South African Anti-Apartheid Activist - Former President of South Africa (1994 to 1999) - Nobel Laureate (International Nelson Mandela Day also celebrated today) :

✒️Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918 in South Africa and was one of the main leaders who fought against apartheid. The United Nations declared July 18 as the "International Nelson Mandela Day" in 2009, the birthday of Nelson Mandela, the activist who fought against the apartheid government and was imprisoned for 27 years. this day is observed to honor Nelson Mandela's work for peace, human rights and freedom. After studying law, he joined the African National Congress, which was formed to protect the interests of black people, and became its leader. He also conducted religious campaigns against communal policies. Thereafter, in 1961, he emerged as the armed forces chief of this movement. He was accused of human rights violations and was arrested and imprisoned in 1962. Sentenced to life imprisonment in 1964. He rejected the government's condition that 'If you ask for forgiveness, we will release'. The new government of the country negotiated with him and finally he was released in 1990. After release, he continued to struggle and eventually became South Africa's first black president in 1994. He is the recipient of Nehru Peace Award, Bharat Ratna Award, Nobel Peace Prize. Nelson Mandela, who has received more than a hundred awards around the world, died in 2013.

• நிறவெறி அரசுக்கு எதிராகப் போராடி 27 ஆண்டுகள் சிறை தண்டனை அனுபவித்த போராட்ட வீரர் நெல்சன் மண்டேலாவின் பிறந்த தினமான ஜூலை 18ஆம் தேதியை ஐ.நா.சபை சர்வதேச "நெல்சன் மண்டேலா தினமாக" 2009ஆம் ஆண்டு அறிவித்தது. அமைதிக்கும், மனித உரிமைக்கும், சுதந்திரத்திற்கும் நெல்சன் மண்டேலா ஆற்றிய பணியைக் கௌரவிக்க இத்தினம் அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.

• இவர் சட்டம் பயின்ற பிறகு, கறுப்பின மக்கள் நலனைப் பாதுகாப்பதற்காக உருவான ஆப்பிரிக்க தேசிய காங்கிரஸில் இணைந்து, அதன் தலைவரானார். இனவாதக் கொள்கைகளுக்கு எதிராக அறப்போராட்டங்களையும் நடத்தி வந்தார்.

• அதன்பின், 1961ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்த இயக்கத்தின் ஆயுதப்படைத் தலைவராக உருவெடுத்தார். இவர்மீது மனித உரிமை மீறல்கள் குற்றம் சாட்டப்பட்டு, 1962ஆம் ஆண்டு கைது செய்யப்பட்டு சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டார். 1964ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆயுள் தண்டனை விதிக்கப்பட்டது. 

• 'மன்னிப்பு கேட்டால் விடுதலை செய்கிறோம்" என அரசின் நிபந்தனையை நிராகரித்தார். நாட்டின் புதிய அரசு இவருடன் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தியது. இறுதியில் 1990ஆம் ஆண்டு விடுதலை செய்யப்பட்டார்.

• தொடர்ந்து போராடி, இறுதியில் 1994ஆம் ஆண்டு தென்னாப்பிரிக்காவின் முதல் கறுப்பின அதிபரானார். நேரு சமாதான விருது, பாரத ரத்னா விருது, அமைதிக்கான நோபல் பரிசும் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. 

• உலகம் முழுவதும் நூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட விருதுகளை பெற்றுள்ள நெல்சன் மண்டேலா 2013ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 5ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
