The President (Discharge of Functions) Act, 1969 :
✒️It was enacted & enforced on 28th May 1969, to provide for the discharge of the functions of the President in certain contingencies.
The Vice-Presidents Pension Act, 1997 :
✒️It was enacted & enforced on 28th May 1997, to provide for the payment of pension and other facilities to retiring Vice-Presidents.
The Tea Act, 1953 :
✒️It was enacted on 28th May 1953 and came into force on 1st April 1956, to provide for the control by the Union of the Tea industry, including the control, in pursuance of the International Agreement now in force, of the cultivation of tea in, and of the export of tea from, India and for that purpose to establish a Tea Board and levy a duty of excise on tea produced in India.
- Tea Board was established under the Tea Act 1953. It has succeeded the Central Tea Board and the Indian Tea Licencing Committee which functioned respectively under the Central Tea Board Act, 1949 and the Indian Tea Control Act, 1938 which were repealed.
- Origin of the Tea Board can be traced to 1903 when the Indian Tea Cess Bill was passed to provide for levying a cess on tea exports. The proceeds of the cess were to be used for the promotion of Indian tea both within and outside India.
- Tea Board is a statutory body and functioning under the Ministry of Commerce of the Central Government.
- Tea Board is constituted of 31 members (including Chairman) drawn from Members of Parliament, tea producers, tea traders, tea brokers, consumers, and representatives of Governments from the principal tea producing states, and trade unions.
- Tea Board is reconstituted every three years.
- THE TEA BOARD BY-LAWS,1955 and provision 19 clearly explains about the age limit of the appointment i-e a person whose age exceeds 25 years may not ordinarily be admitted into the service of the Board : Provided that the appointing authority as specified under by- law 18(2) shall have powers, in its direction, to relax the age limit of candidates up to seven year. Provided further that the age limit in the case of an appointment to a technical or an administrative post requiring experience in the line shall be up to 45 years and the concurrence of the central Government shall be obtained for appointment of persons beyond that age limit.
உலக பட்டினி தினம் - World Hunger Day :
✒️The Day is observed universally on 28 May consistently. The goal of this day is to bring awareness to light about in excess of 794 million individuals living in constant appetite around the world. - உலக பட்டினி தினம் ஆண்டுதோறும் மே 28ஆம் தேதி கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. 'தனி ஒருவனுக்கு உணவில்லை எனில் ஜகத்தினை அழித்திடுவோம்" என்று அப்போதே பாரதியார் பாடினார்.
- ஆனால், உயிர்கொல்லி நோய்களால் ஆண்டுதோறும் இறப்போர் எண்ணிக்கையை காட்டிலும், பட்டினியால் ஏற்படும் மரணங்களே அதிகம் என ஐ.நா அறிக்கை வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.
- மேலும் ஒரு மனிதன் ஆரோக்கியத்துடன் இருக்க நாள்தோறும் 2,100 கலோரி உணவுகள் கிடைக்க வேண்டும் என்று கூறுகிறது. எனவே, பசி மற்றும் வறுமைக்கு நிலையான தீர்வுகளை கொண்டுவர வேண்டும் என்பதுதான் இத்தினத்தின் நோக்கமாகும்.

N.T.Rama Rao - Former Chief Minister of Andrapradesh

என்.டி.ராமாராவ் - Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) - Former Chief Minister of Andrapradesh - Actor and Filmmaker :
✒️N.T.Rama Rao (N.T.R) Popular Telugu film actor and former chief minister of Andhra state was born on May 28, 1923 in a village called Nimmakuru in Andhra state. His original name was Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. He acted in a small role in the film Mana Desam in 1949. The film 'Badhala Bhairavi' released in 1951 brought him immense success. In 1968 he won the National Award and the Padma Shri. After retiring from the film industry, he became active in politics and served as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh 3 times between 1983 and 1995. N.T.Rama Rao, who is still living in the hearts of people, died on 18th January 1996.
- என்.டி.ஆர். என்று அழைக்கப்படும் பிரபல தெலுங்கு திரைப்பட நடிகர் மற்றும் ஆந்திர மாநில முன்னாள் முதல்வரான என்.டி.ராமாராவ் 1923ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 28ஆம் தேதி ஆந்திர மாநிலம் நிம்மகுரு என்ற கிராமத்தில் பிறந்தார். இவரது இயற்பெயர் நன்டமுரி தாரக ராமாராவ்.
- இவர் 1949ஆம் ஆண்டு மன தேசம் என்ற படத்தில் சிறு வேடத்தில் நடித்தார். 1951ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளிவந்த 'பாதாள பைரவி" திரைப்படம் இவருக்கு அபார வெற்றியை பெற்று தந்தது. 1968ஆம் ஆண்டு தேசிய விருதையும், பத்மஸ்ரீ விருதையும் வென்றுள்ளார்.
- பிறகு, திரையுலகிலிருந்து ஓய்வு பெற்று தீவிர அரசியலில் ஈடுபட்ட இவர் 1983 - 95ஆம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு இடையே 3 முறை ஆந்திர மாநில முதலமைச்சராகப் பதவி வகித்தார்.
- மக்களின் இதயத்தில் இன்றும் வாழ்ந்து வரும் என்.டி.ராமாராவ் 1996ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 18ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
மைசூர் வாசுதேவாச்சாரியார் - Mysore Vasudevacharya - Indian Musician - Composer of Carnatic Music - Compositions were mostly in Telugu, Sanskrit :
✒️Mysore Vasudevacharya was born on May 28, 1865 in Mysore, Karnataka, a great Sangeet scholar and composer of many hymns. His musical journey spanned 60 years. He received many awards like Padma Bhushan, Sangita Kalanidhi Award, Mysore Asthana Sangeeta Shastra Ratnam, Sangeeta Shastra Visharath, Sarasagana Chironmani. The great Carnatic music star Mysore Vasudevacharya passed away on 17th May 1961.
- சிறந்த சங்கீத வித்வானும், பல கீர்த்தனைகளை இயற்றியவருமான மைசூர் வாசுதேவாச்சாரியார் 1865ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 28ஆம் தேதி கர்நாடக மாநிலம் மைசூரில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவரது இசைப் பயணம் 60 ஆண்டுகாலம் தொடர்ந்தது. பத்ம பூஷண், சங்கீத கலாநிதி விருது, மைசூர் ஆஸ்தான சங்கீத சாஸ்திர ரத்தினம், சங்கீத சாஸ்திர விஷாரத், சரஸகான சிரோன்மணி என பல விருதுகளைப் பெற்றார்.
- தலைசிறந்த கர்நாடக இசை நட்சத்திரமான மைசூர் வாசுதேவாச்சாரியார் 1961ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 17ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.

🌟 1923ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 28ஆம் தேதி தமிழகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த கர்நாடக இசைக்கலைஞர் டி.எம்.தியாகராஜன் தஞ்சாவூரில் பிறந்தார் - T.M.Thiagarajan, a renowned carnatic vocalist and musician from Tamil Nadu, Southern India was born in Thanjavur on May 28, 1923. He was the awardee of, Sangeetha Kalanidhi award in 1981 from Music Academy Chennai, Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in1982 from Sangeet Natak Academy, Sangeetha Choodamani award in 1974 from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai. Such a renowned musician was passed away on 27 June 2007 due to prolonged illness.
