The Official Languages Act, 1963 - அதிகாரப்பூர்வ மொழிகள் சட்டம், 1963 :

✒️It was enacted on 10th May 1963 and enforced on 10th January 1965, to provide for the languages which may be used for the official purposes of the Union, for transaction of business in Parliament, for Central and State Acts and for certain purposes in High Courts.

  • The Official Languages Act (1963) provides that English should be the communication language between the Union and the non-Hindi states.

  • Article 343 of the Indian Constitution states The official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script. Also according to Article 345, the legislature of a state may adopt any one or more of the state's official languages, including Hindi, like the language or languages to be used for all or some of the state's official purposes.

  • Articles 344(1) and 351 of the Constitution (the eighth schedule) provided the following 22 languages as the official: Assamese, Meitei (Manipuri), Bengali, Marathi, Bodo, Nepali, Dogri, Udiya, Gujarati, Punjabi, Hindi, Sanskrit, Kannada, Santhali, Kashmiri, Sindhi, Konkani, தமிழ், Maithili, Telugu, Malayalam, Urdu.

  • Interesting fact; Persian language was the court language during the Mughal period in India. It reigned as an administrative language for several centuries until the era of British colonisation.


உலக செஞ்சரும பல்லுறுப்பு தினம் - World Lupus Day : 

✒️This day was created to bring awareness to lupus and other autoimmune diseases that affect people worldwide. World Lupus Awareness Day is an initiative from Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) to raise awareness about lupus and to promote research into treatments and cures for this disease. LFA hopes that their efforts will help create more understanding among the public about what lupus really is, how it affects individuals, and how we can best treat those who suffer from it.

  • உலக செஞ்சரும பல்லுறுப்பு தினம் ஆண்டுதோறும் மே 10ஆம் தேதி அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது. உலகம் முழுவதும் பல்லுறுப்பு நோயால் 50 லட்சத்திற்கும் மேற்பட்டோர் பாதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.

  • இந்த பல்லுறுப்பு நோயானது தோல் மட்டுமில்லாமல் சிறுநீரகம், மூளை, இதயம், நுரையீரல், கண்கள் போன்ற உள்ளுறுப்புகளையும், எலும்புகளையும் தாக்குகிறது.

  • தேவையில்லாத சில மருந்துகளை உட்கொள்ளுதல், கிருமித்தொற்று, உணவுப்பழக்கம் போன்ற காரணங்களாலும், மரபு ரீதியாகவும் இந்த நோய் ஏற்படுகிறது.

  • தீராத காய்ச்சல், அதிகமாக முடி உதிர்தல், வாய்ப்புண், சோர்வு நிலை, ரத்த சோகை, தோலில் புதிய சிவப்பு நிற தடிப்புகள் போன்றவை இந்நோயின் அறிகுறிகளாகும்.

Nayantara Sahgal - Renowned Writer

நயந்தரா சாகல் - Nayantara Sahgal - Renowned Writer - Sahitya Akademi Awardee :

✒️Nayantara Sahgal, an Indian writer who worked as an advisor to the Sahitya Akademi Board (English), was born on 10th May 1927 in Allahabad. She was the daughter of Vijayalakshmi Pandit, Nehru's younger sister and recipient of Sahitya Akademi Award for Literature (English) in 1986 for his English novel "Rich Like Us" (1985). Also, she is a member of the UN. She served on the Indian delegation to the General Assembly and as Assistant Chairman of the Human Rights Organisation.

✒️சாகித்ய அகாடமி போர்டில் (ஆங்கிலம்) அறிவுரையாளராகப் பணிபுரிந்த இந்திய எழுத்தாளர் நயந்தாரா சாகல் 1927ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 10ஆம் தேதி அலகாபாத்தில் பிறந்தார். 

  • இவர் நேருவின் தங்கையான விஜயலஷ்மி பண்டிட்டின் மகள் ஆவார். இலக்கியத்திற்கான சாகித்ய அகாடமி விருது (ஆங்கிலம்) 1986ஆம் ஆண்டில் ரிச் லைக் அஸ் (Rich Like Us, 1985) என்ற இவரது ஆங்கிலப் புதினத்திற்கு வழங்கப்பட்டது.

  • மேலும், இவர் ஐ.நா. பொதுக் குழுவுக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட இந்தியத் தூதுக் குழுவிலும், மனித உரிமைகள் அமைப்பில் உதவித் தலைவராகவும் பணியாற்றினார்.

🌟கிரியா யோகி என்று போற்றப்பட்ட சிறந்த ஸ்ரீ யுக்தேஷ்வர் கிரி 1855ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 10ஆம் தேதி மேற்குவங்க மாநிலம் செராம்பூரில் பிறந்தார் - Sri Yukteswar Giri, the great educator who is hailed as Kriya Yogi, was born on 10 May 1855 in Serampore, West Bengal.


🌟 1857ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 10ஆம் தேதி இந்தியாவில் மீரட் என்ற இடத்தில் பிரிட்டிஷ் கிழக்கிந்தியக் கம்பெனிக்கு எதிரான சிப்பாய் கிளர்ச்சி ஆரம்பமானது - On May 10, 1857, a soldier's revolt (Sepoy mutiny) against the British East India Company began in Meerut, India.


🌟தமிழ் இலக்கிய விமர்சகர் மற்றும் சமூக சிந்தனையாளருமான கார்த்திகேசு சிவத்தம்பி 1932ஆம் ஆண்டு மே 10ஆம் தேதி பிறந்தார் - Tamil literary critic and social thinker Karthigesu Sivathamby was born on 10 May 1932.
