Dear Readers, Today we would like to remind you once again of some of the things that happened today.
It's not just about the law enacted in India today, it's about world leaders, it's about inventions, it's about inventors, it's about freedom fighters, it's about the people who made the world look back. It can also be about an event. In that line today we are going to know about "The Offshore Areas Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act, 2002" - "Martyr's Day " -"Chidambaram Subramaniam" -"Thiruvarutprakasa Vallalar Chidambaram Ramalingam" - "Radiosonde" - "Mahatma Gandhi" and "Ranger 6 spacecraft."
The Offshore Areas Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act, 2002 :
✒️The act was enacted on 30th January 2003 and came into force on 15th January 2010, to provide for development and regulation of mineral resources in the territorial waters, continental shelf, exclusive economic zone and other maritime zones of India and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
- The Act provides mandates for all minerals in offshore areas. Even minerals listed under the Atomic Energy Act 1962 are included in the said Act. However, it excludes oils and related hydrocarbons. Oils and hydrocarbons though are offshore minerals are dealt with under separate legislation.
- Section 30 - Compounding of offences :
- Any offence punishable under this Act may, either before or after the institution of the prosecution, be compounded by the administering authority or any other officer authorised by the Central Government with respect to that offence, on payment for credit to that Government of such sum as that administering authority or officer, as the case may be, may specify:
- Provided that such sum shall not, in any case, exceed the maximum amount of the fine which may be imposed under this Act for the offence so compounded.
- (2) Where an offence is compounded under sub-section (1), no proceeding or further proceeding, as the case may be, shall be taken against the offender in respect of the offence so compounded and the offender, if in custody, shall be released forthwith.
- The Offshore Areas Mineral Concession Rules, 2006 :
- The Offshore Areas Mineral Concession Rules, 2006, lays down the procedure about renewal of the permits, lease or license under Section 35 which confers power upon the Central government to make Rules in accordance with the Offshore Areas Mineral (Development and Regulation) Act, 2002.
தியாகிகள் தினம் - Martyr's Day (Shaheed Divas is also commemorated on March 23) :
✒️Martyr's Day is observed on 30th January to pay tribute to the martyrs of the freedom struggle who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and progress of India. Further on that day, the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi was shot dead. Further the observance of the day as a way of honoring and instilling patriotism in the young generation by remembering the heroic deeds of the martyrs.
- இந்திய நாட்டின் விடுதலைக்காகவும், முன்னேற்றத்திற்காகவும் பாடுபட்டு தங்கள் இன்னுயிரை தியாகம் செய்த விடுதலைப் போராட்ட வீரத் தியாகிகளுக்கு அஞ்சலி செலுத்துவதற்காக தியாகிகள் தினம் ஜனவரி 30ஆம் தேதி அனுசரிக்கப்படுகிறது.
- தேசத்தந்தை மகாத்மா காந்தி சுட்டுக்கொல்லப்பட்ட ஜனவரி 30ஆம் தேதி இந்தியாவில் தியாகிகள் தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.
- தியாகிகளின் வீரச் செயல்களை நினைவுப்படுத்தி இளம் தலைமுறையினரிடம் நாட்டுப்பற்றை ஏற்படுத்தவும், அவர்களுக்கு மரியாதை செலுத்தும் விதமாகவும் இத்தினம் கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது.

சி.சுப்பிரமணியம் - Chidambaram Subramaniam - Politician - Independence Activist - Former Governor of Maharashtra - Former Finance and Defence Minister :
✒️C.Subramaniam, the leader of the Green Revolution of independent India, was born on January 30, 1910 in Senguttaipalayam village near Pollachi. After the independence of the country, he participated in the drafting of the Constitution. His political guru was Rajaji. During the period 1952-62, he held the posts of Education, Law, Finance Minister, Central Steel, Mines Minister, Food Minister etc. in the state government. When the Congress split in 1969, he sided with Indira Gandhi and became the party leader. In 1972, he set a record in wheat yield. He took office as the Governor of Maharashtra in 1990. He was awarded 'Bharat Ratna' in 1998. He passed away on November 7, 2000 after implementing many schemes for the development of Indian agriculture.
- சுதந்திர இந்தியாவின் பசுமைப் புரட்சிக்கு வித்திட்ட தலைவர் சி.சுப்பிரமணியம் 1910ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 30ஆம் தேதி பொள்ளாச்சி அருகே செங்குட்டைப்பாளையம் கிராமத்தில் பிறந்தார்.
- இவர் நாடு விடுதலைப் பெற்ற பிறகு, அரசியலமைப்புச் சட்டம் இயற்றுவதில் பங்கேற்றார். இவரது அரசியல் குரு ராஜாஜி ஆவார்.
- 1952-62ஆம் ஆண்டு காலகட்டங்களில் மாநில அரசில் கல்வி, சட்டம், நிதி அமைச்சர், மத்திய எஃகு, சுரங்கத்துறை அமைச்சர், உணவுத்துறை அமைச்சர் போன்ற பதவிகளை வகித்துள்ளார்.
- 1969ஆம் ஆண்டு காங்கிரஸ் பிளவுபட்டபோது இந்திரா காந்தி பக்கம் நின்று கட்சித் தலைவரானார். 1972ஆம் ஆண்டு கோதுமை விளைச்சலில் சாதனை படைக்கச் செய்தார். 1990ஆம் ஆண்டு மகாராஷ்டிர ஆளுநராகப் பதவியேற்றார். இவருக்கு 1998ஆம் ஆண்டு 'பாரத ரத்னா" விருது வழங்கப்பட்டது.
- இந்திய விவசாய வளர்ச்சிக்காக பல திட்டங்களை நடைமுறைப்படுத்திய இவர் 2000ஆம் ஆண்டு நவம்பர் 7ந் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
இராமலிங்க அடிகள் - Thiruvarutprakasa Vallalar Chidambaram Ramalingam - Saint and Tamil Poet :
✒️Today is Vallalar Ramalinga Adigal's memorial day!
✒️Vallalar, the founder of Samarasa sanmarga norms, was born on 5th October 1823 at Marudur. 9-year-old Ramalingam, who was sent to sing Murugan's songs, but he stunned the people with his eloquent speech. He was moved to see the suffering of people due to hunger, starvation, poverty and lack of education and he said "Jeevakarunya is the key to Moksha". He formed the organization 'Samarasa Vedha Sanmarga Sangam' in 1865. He laid down principles that people could easily follow. He preached that 'God is one, sacrifice of life, eating grass, caste, religion and economic differences should not exist. Other living beings should be treated as life itself. Giving food to the hungry is a high merit". Ramalinga Swami passed away on January 30, 1874.

- சமரச சன்மார்க்க நெறிகளை வகுத்த வள்ளலார் இராமலிங்க அடிகள் 1823ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் 5ஆம் தேதி சிதம்பரத்திற்கு அடுத்த மருதூரில் பிறந்தார்.
- முருகன் பாடல்களை பாடிவிட்டு வருமாறு அனுப்பி வைக்கப்பட்ட 9 வயது இராமலிங்கம், மடைதிறந்த வெள்ளமென சொற்பொழிவாற்றி வியப்பில் ஆழ்த்தினார்.
- பசி, பட்டினி, பிணி, கல்வியின்மையால் மக்கள் துன்புறுவதைக் கண்டு துடித்தார். 'ஜீவகாருண்யமே மோட்சத்துக்கான திறவுகோல்" என எடுத்துக் கூறினார்.
- 'சமரச வேத சன்மார்க்க சங்கம்" என்ற அமைப்பை 1865ஆம் ஆண்டு உருவாக்கினார். மக்கள் எளிதாக பின்பற்றக்கூடிய கொள்கைகளை வகுத்தார். 'கடவுள் ஒருவரே, உயிர் பலி, புலால் உண்பது, ஜாதி, மத, பொருளாதார வேறுபாடுகள் கூடாது. பிற உயிர்களை தன்னுயிர்போல கருத வேண்டும். பசித்தவர்களுக்கு உணவு அளிப்பது உயர்வான புண்ணியம்" என உபதேசித்தார்.
- வாடிய பயிரைக் கண்டபோதெல்லாம் வாடிய கருணைமிக்க இராமலிங்க சுவாமிகள் 1874ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜனவரி 30ஆம் தேதி மறைந்தார்.
