An Overview about today's law and world history...

The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961 :

✒️It was enacted on 12th december 1961 and came into force on 1st November 1963, to regulate the employment of women in certain establishments for certain periods before and after child-birth and to provide for maternity benefit and certain other benefits.

• The Act was amended through the Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Act, 2017 which, inter alia, has increased the paid maternity leave to women employees from 12 weeks to 26 weeks.

• The Act was applicable to all establishments which include factories, mines, plantations, Government establishments, shops and establishments under the relevant applicable legislation, or any other establishment as may be notified by the Central Government.

• As per the Act, to be eligible for maternity benefit, a woman must have been working as an employee in an establishment for a period of at least 80 days within the past 12 months. Payment during the leave period is based on the average daily wage for the period of actual absence.

The Apprentices Act, 1961 :

✒️It was enacted on 12th December 1961 & came into force on 1st March 1962 , to provide for the regulation and control of training of apprentices and for matters connected therewith.

The Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act, 1978 :

✒️It was enacted & enforced on 12th December 1978, to ban the promotion or conduct of prize chits and money circulation schemes and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

The Tyre Corporation of India Limited (Disinvestment of Ownership) Act, 2007:

✒️It was enacted & enforced on 12th December 2007, to provide for disinvestment of Government's equity in the Tyre Corporation of India Limited and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

✒️International Day of Heavy Metals is celebrated worldwide on December 12 every year. This day was created by Iron Mathew. On this day, albums are released that are played through the best and biggest heavy metal instruments. Use of this great music in homes, workplaces and cars is also emphasized on this day.

• சர்வதேச கன உலோக தினம் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் டிசம்பர் 12ஆம் தேதி உலகளவில் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது.

• இத்தினத்தில் சிறந்த மற்றும் மிகப்பெரிய கன உலோகங்களினால் வாசிக்கப்பட்ட ஆல்பங்கள் வெளியிடப்படுகிறது. வீடுகள், வேலை செய்யும் இடங்கள், கார் ஆகியவற்றிலும் இச்சிறந்த இசையைப் பயன்படுத்த வலியுறுத்துகின்றனர். இத்தினம் ஐயர்ன் மேத்யூ என்பவரால் தோற்றுவிக்கப்பட்டது.

சர்வதேச கரலாகட்டை தினம் - International Karlakattai Day :

✒️International Karlakattai (Indian Clubs) Day is celebrated on 12th December. The aim of the event is to take the Tamilian art of karlakattai to the world and to make karlakattai an Olympic sport.

• டிசம்பர் 12ஆம் தேதி சர்வதேச கரலாகட்டை தினம் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. தமிழரின் உடற்பயிற்சி கலையான கரலாகட்டையை உலகம் முழுவதும் கொண்டு செல்வது மற்றும் கரலாகட்டையை ஒலிம்பிக் விளையாட்டாக இடம் பெறச் செய்வதே இத்தினத்தின் நோக்கமாகும்.

ரஜினிகாந்த் - Rajinikanth (Shivaji Rao Gaekwad) Indian Actor :

✒️Superstar Rajinikanth was born on December 12, 1950 in Bangalore. His original name was Shivaji Rao Gaikwad. Rajinikanth initially faced many hardships and joined 'Tamil Nadu Government M.G.R. Film and Television Institute' with the help of a friend. In 1975, he started his film career with a small role in the film 'Apoorva Ragangal' directed by K.Balachander. Apart from Tamil films, Rajinikanth has acted in more than 50 films in Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali and English. He has received many awards like DadaSaheb Phalke Award, Kalaimamani Award, MGR Award, Tamil Nadu State Film Award, Nandi Award, Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, Lifetime Achievement Award.

• சூப்பர் ஸ்டார் ரஜினிகாந்த் அவர்கள், 1950ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 12ஆம் தேதி பெங்களூரில் பிறந்தார். இவருடைய இயற்பெயர் சிவாஜி ராவ் கைக்வாட்.

• ஆரம்பத்தில் பல இன்னல்களை சந்தித்த ரஜினிகாந்த் அவர்கள் ஒரு நண்பரின் உதவியால் 'சென்னை திரைப்படக் கல்லூரியில்" சேர்ந்தார். 1975ஆம் ஆண்டு, கே.பாலச்சந்தர் இயக்கத்தில் வெளிவந்த 'அபூர்வ ராகங்கள்" என்ற திரைப்படத்தில், ஒரு சிறிய வேடத்தில் திரையுலக வாழ்க்கையை தொடங்கினார்.

• ரஜினிகாந்த் அவர்கள், தமிழ்மொழி திரைப்படங்கள் மட்டுமல்லாமல், கன்னடம், மலையாளம், தெலுங்கு, இந்தி, பெங்காலி மற்றும் ஆங்கிலம் போன்ற மொழிகளில் சுமார் 170க்கும் மேற்பட்ட திரைப்படங்களில் நடித்துள்ளார்.

• தாதா சாகேப் பால்கே விருது, கலைமாமணி விருது, எம்.ஜி.ஆர் விருது, தமிழ்நாடு மாநில திரைப்பட விருது, பத்ம பூஷண், பத்ம விபூஷண், வாழ்நாள் சாதனையாளர் விருது, நந்தி விருது போன்ற பல விருதுகளை பெற்றுள்ளார்.

🌟 1931ஆம் ஆண்டு டிசம்பர் 12ஆம் தேதி பிரபல நடிகை சௌகார் ஜானகி ஆந்திர மாநிலம் ராஜமுந்திரியில் பிறந்தார் - Famous actress Sowcar Janaki was born on December 12, 1931 in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh.
